High School DxD (Neo-Japanese: ハイスクール D×D, Haisukūru Dī Dī) is a Neo-Japanese psychological drama visual novel game developed and published by an video game developer (Ro-Kadokawa Games).
It was released in Neo-Japan on January 6th, 2012 on the Bloxtendo 3DS before being exported to other devices on Monday, May 27th, 2013 (in that same day, the game was released in Robloxia by Bloxtendo).
Plot
The game centers around Issei Hyoudou, a perverted 18-year-old high school student who gets killed on his first date by an fallen angel (who turned out to be his date without him knowing).
However, before he actually dies, Issei gets resurrected by a demon Robloxianoid-like girl, who is later revealed to be named Rias Gremory (aged 18 physically, but is actually 170 years old), who makes him join her school club, namely the "Occult Research Club", which exists in order to fight the fallen angels and prevent them from causing the robloxian population to be changed into a grotesque species.
Controversy
When the game was released on the Rii U, there was a controversy surrounding it due to the game crashing everytime it was booted up on the console.
Eventually, the game’s bugs were fixed and it has since become one of the best-selling Rii U games. It has also been ported to the Bloxtendo Switch.
Re-release
it was re-released for the Bloxtendo Switch in 2023 as part of a group of random games by Bloxtendo that the company had decided to re-release and remaster for the Bloxtendo Switch.
Gameplay
The game plays out like a regular visual novel, where the player chooses options that lead to how the story is actually persecuted. There are 45 endings to unlock, and some of the endings are good, while others are bad.
