Baoi, or Baoi City, formerly known as Newford, is a city located in the Peninsular Metro Area, in the southern part of the Dili Peninsula and northwest of South Baoji. It is a satellite city of the capital, Baoji City. Founded sometime in the late 17th century and renamed in 1914, the city is famous for its fishing economy and for suffering an attack by the Bacon Empire in 1976. It has a population of 203,038 Robloxians and is composed of nine neighborhoods. It was one of the first settlements to be founded on the island and features the Highsky Complex, a complex of eight skyscrapers in the city center, built in 2018.

Baoi was originally founded due to overcrowding in the first village established in South Baoji. Historically, it exported exotic fruits as the basis of its economy. After its independence, the economy reorganized, focusing on the fish market, but since 1901, the former economy has proven to be unstable. Therefore, Baoi also diversified its economy by creating an industrial hub, which today, combined with tourism and fishing, makes Baoi prosperous and economically stable. Reasonable rental prices and the city's size attract many people.

17th Century

Baoi was originally founded as Newford in 1698; in 1699, the first settlers from the overpopulated Saint Henry began to settle in Newford.

18th Century

Due to its small size, the city suffered the most from the food crisis between 1704 and 1709, reducing its population from 938 Robloxians to only 134. In 1710, a new decree from the city hall legalized the hunting of aggressive animals without requiring authorization from the Bloxian Empire, in an attempt to help citizens in case of another food crisis. Baoji expanded its fish market, as fishing began to be practiced around 1723.

In 1732, the city was one of the strongest supporters of the nationalist movement, due to the historical neglect of the Bloxian Empire towards other cities, where protests were brutally repressed. Between 1733 and 1767, the city concentrated the largest number of slaves in South Baoji, due to its primarily agrarian and fishing economy.

When the slave revolt occurred, the city initially hesitated to integrate them, but fear and threats of repression made them integrate slaves into its economy, and in 1774, the Naval Battle, one of the 5 Doom Battles, took place in the seas of Baoi. Baoi closed its ports and sent ships to lay siege to the Bloxian ships, allowing South Baojian forces to attack them. At the Congress of Baoi in 1799, South Baoji declared its independence and established its capital as Baoji City.

19th Century

After independence, Baoi established itself as an agricultural town, primarily exporting exotic fruits to Baoji City, from where they were distributed to various countries. The city's population reached 23,400 Robloxians after a population boom in 1813. Baoi remained prosperous, and in 1820, a controlled urbanization law was passed to prevent uncontrolled urbanization like that of nearby cities. Later, Typhoon Brydon struck the vicinity of the area, which fortunately did not affect it much due to technological advancements to minimize the damage the city had during the typhoon. A poor harvesting year in 1847 led to the city entering a massive economic crisis.

In 1850, Baoi City decided to trade with Robloxia to have them heal themselves from the economic crisis. Later, Mayor André Myers initiated a series of measures to establish industries in Baoi, hoping to mitigate the impacts of poor harvests. This continued until 1874, when the efforts ended when an industrial hub was established in Baoi. In 1879, the fishing trade of South Baoji prospered, beginning to sell to Industries and their products, in addition to maintaining a local economy. In 1887, the Second Industrial Revolution occurred, leading Mayor Edward Luís Silva to make successive efforts to modernize the city's industries, which lasted until around 1898.

20th Century

In 1902, the city underwent planning changes due to health problems caused by its proximity to industries. In 1910, after the country's GDP stabilized, the city also stabilized, allowing for greater densification and urban expansion. In 1915, weapons and military vehicle factories emerged in the industrial district. However, after the economic crisis and the collapse of the capital, Baoi, strengthened by its industries, became a benchmark city in the recovery from the crisis, mitigating its effects, albeit not entirely. When the government stabilized around 1930, the city received incentives, and new companies moved there.

During RW2 the city remained relatively inactive, but as the Battle of Liverton approached, it supplied tanks, aircraft, and weapons, mainly short-range, to the armed forces. It is said that 43% of the weapons in the battle were Baoi. After Liverton was liberated, the city experienced another boom in densification and expansion. In 1953, a massive fire destroyed half of the Polo's industries. Although a 1960 report showed that the economy remained more stable than expected, and the overall health of the population improved.

The city had its golden years until 1974, when the "Great South-Baojian Depression" gripped the city. In 1976, a guided missile destroyed the city's tallest skyscraper; it was proven days later that it belonged to the Bacon Empire. The weakened country intercepted nearly 20 missiles from the Bacon Empire targeting government buildings and tourist sites in three weeks. However, after 1980, the city and the country recovered, and the city improved its defenses and began measures to assist people affected by the attacks. In 1986, the Luobavirus had devastating effects on the economy, but since 1990, the city has recovered. It hasn't returned to its original glory, but it still has a stable economy and a polo. state-of-the-art industry.

21th Century

The 21st century was calm for Baoi; the city didn't undergo many changes, although it gained one more neighborhood, and more green industries settled in the Industrial Park.

In 2013, a law was enacted, dividing the industrial park into 3 sub-parks to facilitate administration.

The city was harmed by the administration of President Joseph Lavert, where the industrial park received threats of being demolished to make way for vineyards and a power plant. However, the city and the park recovered in 2023, after the administration of President Luan Hinchong Min, where the city received tax incentives, and more fishing companies and other sectors established themselves.
