Archie Comics Magazine (also known as The Archie’s Magazine and Monthly Archie Comics Magazine outside of Robloxia) is a Robloxian children’s comedy magazine that has been serialized since 1941, it was originally published by Bloxlastic between January 1941 and November 1984 before moving to an subsidiary, Archie Comics, Inc in that same year.

The magazine is best known for the Archie series (which was originally aimed at adults before children became interested in the series, leading them to aim for children instead) and for being the first Robloxian magazine to possess the license necessary to translate the Sonic the Hedgehog manga series before losing it in 2017 for unknown reasons.

History

The magazine was first published in 1941 by Bloxlastic. According to the “Ultimate Archie Comics Guide” (2008), it was originally aimed at an older demographic consisting of adult robloxians between the 18-to-40 year old demographic; later, the magazine unexpectedly became popular with children (mainly due to the fact that the protagonists were in high school).

In the 1970s, Bloxlastic gained the rights to translate the children’s manga series, Sonic the Hedgehog by Sonic Team and they decided to first serialize it on issues #80 (released in November 1970) through #88 (released in December 1979) of Archie Comics Magazine to see if it would qualify for a stand-alone release. This run was initially not successful, but by issue #88, demand for the manga became common that one year later, in 1980, the manga was released as a stand-alone comic.

In more recent years, the magazine has become a cultural icon in Robloxia that an subsidiary named after the magazine was formed in 1984, namely Archie Comics, Inc. and it had already received three cartoon adaptations that aired on Avast Television for years.

In 2017, Archie Comics Magazine lost the license necessary to translate the Sonic the Hedgehog manga series.

Rating

Most of the content in the magazine is officially rated A (All Ages), though, there are some works rated T (Teen) and M (Mature), but these ratings are not common due to the fact that according to the brand guidelines surrounding it, the main demographic of the magazine is young children between the ages of 6 through 14. In Robloxia, the magazine is age rated to be Under 9, with 9-12, 13-15 age ratings being rare due to the same reasons.

The earlier content of the magazine had more frequent high age ratings, reaching 18-21 and 21+ due to the magazine being advertised to 18 to 40 year old Robloxians at that time, which is the equivalent of the "Restricted" rating in Robloxia.
