Tôn Đức Thắng was the president of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
Biography
June 29, 1971, Tôn Đức Thắng signed an Act of Military Surrender in the presence of Creighton Abrams, head of the U.S. Military Assistance Command in Vietnam. The surrender is unconditional, with Vietnam agreeing to cease all hostilities, liberate all prisoners of war and civilian internees, and hand over all control and authority to President Richard Nixon.
