The Rubbish World of Dave Spud (a.k.a Dave Spud) is a British children's animated series featuring the surreal adventures of the eponymous Dave Spud of Grimsby, his friends and tower block-dwelling family. It was created and directed by Edward Foster, inspired by his 2003 NFTS student short 'Anna Spud'. It was developed into a pilot in 2010 produced by The Illuminated Film Company. 26 11-minute instalments were commissioned, whilst the soundtrack was composed by electronic group Basement Jaxx. In May 2020, for series 2 a further 52 installments were commissioned. Series 3 aired its first 6 episodes on CITV in July 2023, A Scottish Gaelic version aired on BBC Alba in 2022 (which is known as An Saoghal Droil aig Pòl Ploc. (a.k.a Pòl Ploc)). Series 3 ended on 12 September 2024 as well as the whole show.
Dave, our magnet for disaster, is a fighter against the odds and our unlikely hero. He knows that no matter how rubbish things get, there is always room for them to get worse. BUT BRING IT ON.
