James the Red Engine
This is a train whistle sound effect used for the character, James, since 1984. This whistle sound effect that was used for James's whistle, like all the steam whistle sound effects from the first three series, was made using the "Whistle" preset on a Roland Jupiter 6 synthesiser. It is a synth version of Edward Whistle. It shouldn't be confused with neither Freesound, G48-06-Steam Train Whistles.wav, nor Sound Ideas, TRAIN, WHISTLE - STEAM WHISTLE, the latter from Sound Ideas' Hanna-Barbera Sound Effects Library.
