An image of Charlie Brown Screaming "Aaugh!".

This is a vocal effect first recorded in 1969 for the feature film A Boy Named Charlie Brown. Despite being most notably used for Charlie Brown, it was originally recorded by Glenn Gilger for Linus when he sees Charlie Brown shining his shoes with his security blanket, although it's used for Charlie Brown himself later in the movie after he failed to use his soothing words, 'Prada, Chanel, Gucci, Armani' when he tried to calm down even though he spelt the word 'beagle' as "B-E-A-G-E-L". Gilger's recording would go on to become one of the signature sound effects of the Peanuts specials - often as a general all-purpose scream for several of the characters featured in the specials.
