This is a E2 sound effect which debuted in Godzilla vs. Kong. Kong's roar was created by Erik Aadahl and was adapted from lions, tigers, leopards, gorillas, bears, boars, and elephants. There are some instances in the film where Kong emits very unique sounds, some of which are shrill and high-pitched like his 1976 incarnation, but filtered to sound somewhat modernized. When Kong lifted his axe to strike Godzilla on the head, he made a sound that was recycled from a video of an elephant roaring in pain while undergoing medical treatment, and he occasionally emits a shrill scream, which was from a video of a gorilla charging at a glass window in a zoo.
