X Cinema is a former cinema chain in Robloxia which attempted to dethrone Cineblox Productions as the number one cinema chain. It was planned to have 50 theaters spread all over the country of Robloxia by the year 2027, but the plans were scrapped on June 13, 2026 due to infeasibility of the aforementioned objective and the bankruptcy and the effective liquidation of the cinema chain.
The chain's headquarters were located in RoCity before the building was demolished due to bankruptcy.
X Cinema was an completely private company entirely throughout its history, unlike Cineblox Productions.
History
The idea for the company arose in 2017, when the mayor of RoCity said it was time for a new cinema chain. Cineblox Productions has dominated the cinema industry ever since its first grand opening. However, when new plans for a cinema in RoCity were proposed, the mayor decided to promote a new chain, X Cinema.
The first headquarters were built on September 16, 2022, in the city's outskirts. That same day, X Cinema was announced in a post authored by HeadPenguin to be open to the public soon with an image showing it currently under construction. The cinemas were said to include various auditoriums full of LED lights spread all over the cinema by concept images.
The first cinema of the chain was planned to open on March 2023 in RoCity after several delays. After March 2023 came and went, the cinema's grand opening was again delayed to March 2024, with HeadPenguin saying it would premiere the movies Helix, Genie, and Red Racer. After March 2024 came and went, HeadPenguin indefinitely delayed the grand opening. Later, due to the construction costs exceeding the cinema chain's budget on June 13, 2026, as well as other complications due to Robloxia law, HeadPenguin made the decision to declare the cinema chain bankrupt, which would effectively authorize the demolition the movie theater that was planned to be built on RoCity on the same day, as well as the headquarters building.
