The West Coast Railway was a railway that operated between San Juan and Pacifico from 1917 until 1954, 1957 and 1965, and it mostly ran near seaside areas. They were built for commuter train purposes. The first section of San Juan - Sacramento was built in 1917, and the second section of Sacramento - Pacifico was built in 1924. In the Bloxburg - Dos Bocas section, the railway shared the same route with the old Bloxburg Railway, which was also closed down in 2004.

In 1954 and 1957, the most of the railway was closed down due to low ridership. Most passengers rode the old Bloxburg Railway instead of the West Coast Railway. The Old Town Lake - Pacifico Section was still operating, but it was also closed in 1965. Today, most of the old stations and bridges in Bloxburg Valley were demolished. However, the abandoned railway is still there, while the Bloxburg section is being used as a rail bike route for tourism purposes.

The Old Town Lake - Pacifico section is still there, and the unmaintained tracks, bridges and some stations are still remaining, and even the abandoned trains are in the abandoned tracks, being overgrown by trees and plants.
