Viroqua is a large city in Cherokee County and one of the largest in Keysota. The Robloxia Weather Service has a tower camera in the city. The Wenatchee River runs right by the city. Viroqua has a sister city in Beltrami County, fittingly named West Viroqua. Viroqua has many residential buildings, but it also has many commercial buildings. The city has apartment complexes. The city is near the intersection of Cherokee County Road 77 and Keysota State Route 71.

Tornado incidents

Most of the time, Viroqua is not hit by a tornado.

1987 Viroqua Tornado

The 1987 Viroqua Tornado was a monster F4 tornado that hit Viroqua. This tornado was notable for damaging the city of Viroqua for the first time since Keysota was founded. It is presumed the tornado paralleled Keysota State Route 71, as evidenced by KSWB-8 news team reporting that it had also collapsed the wooden bridge that connects West Viroqua to Viroqua at its peak strength of 250 miles per hour, resulting in Viroquans having to take a lengthy protracted detour to reach West Viroqua. The governor of Keysota at this time thought a wooden bridge was modern at that time, which lead to the wooden bridge being repaired by the next day.

Bodies of water

Viroqua is very close to the Wenatchee River, which is the reason for its sudden growth, as the water can be used economically to improve the city and to help the city get running water.

Viroqua had a small population of around 5,503 residents in 2004. This grew to the current population of 40,796 (2024-25) when a local census was conducted. This is mainly due to Viroqua not only building a lot more buildings for residents to live in but also because there are many tourist attractions: its fishing docks, its restaurants, and the randomly placed pink couch on one island offshore on the Wentachee River near Viroqua.
