Verdansk Internationaler Flughafen or Verdansk International Airport (IATA:VIA, ICAO: ERVD) is an airport in Verdansk, East Romarkia. The airport is named after its capital and after Conrad Verdansk, one of the founding president of East Romarkia.
The airport is owned and operated by the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt Verdansk Section and serves as a major base for both domestic and limited international flights. It is also notable for being a place for cargo transit, helping it support the region's economy.
History
Verdansk International Airport was officially opened on September 17, 1990, as of the conclusion of the Cold War. Initially a small facility with one terminal and a single runway, the airport expanded significantly during the 1990s and late-1999 as Verdansk population and economic importance grew. By 2003, it had added a second runway and modernised its passenger terminal to handle increasing air traffic.
The 2000s were a decade of further upgrades, including a cargo facility to hold most of cargo imports. In 2004, the airport underwent a major renovation, introducing an eco-friendly technologies such as solar-powered terminals and energy-efficient lighting systems. The Verdansk Terminal Expansion Project in 2020 added additional gates, a new concourse, and improved service for passengers, further improving the airport.

The airport was a victim to a terrorist attack in 2028 led by Furry Peace and Justice Corporation mercenaries, where the airport was attacked with Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 being severely damaged with at most 186 civilians, 28 airport security operators, and 87 armed police officers killed. As of the terrorist attack, only 21 civilians, 13 airport security operators, and 2 armed police officers survived. According to unofficial reports, 6 of the unarmed civilians were off-duty Anti-Furry Coalition assets (5 Anti-Furry Coalition soldiers, 1 Anti-Furry Directorate).
Following the terrorist attack, the airport was shut down for immediate renovations as all flights to Verdansk International were rerouted to neighbouring airports.
