The Walt Disney Company, commonly known as Ro Disney, or Disney, is a Robloxian multinational entertainment and media conglomerate headquartered at the Walt Disney Studios complex in Santiago, Bloxburg Valley. Ever since its founding, it had already established itself as a leader in the animation industry. Their first animated short, "Steamboat Willie" was the first cartoon to include sound and also introduced the well-known Bloxey Mouse, which would go on to become the mascot of the company.

Disney had several locations before settling in Santiago: the first was in Los Feliz and the later was in Las Sonrisas.

The company is known for its film studio division, Walt Disney Studios, which includes Walt Disney Pictures, Walt Disney Animation studios, Disney Tourism, Bloxar, Bloxel Studios, 20th Century Animation etc. Disney also owns the CBA network channel, Robloxian Geographic, Ro Disney Channel, Freeform, Disney plus and Hotstar. Disney also owns its own attraction unit such as theme parks, resorts and cruise ships.

Disney is also one of the biggest companies in the world and is known for its great animation and live-show films as well as revolutionizing several industries. Ever since its founding in 1923, Disney has won 234 academy awards, making it the company with the most amount of academy awards ever won. However, it is criticized due to supposed plagiarism and including racial stereotypes in their films in the past.

History

Prelude-1923

In 1921, Walt Disney and Ro O. Disney founded the Laugh-o-gram studios in Salt Lake City. Ro O. Disney soon retured to Los Feliz, Bloxburg to which he contracted the disease, stud decay. Just 2 years later in 1923, when the studio was about to release its newest film, 'Alice's Bloxyland", the studio filed for bankruptcy. Walt Disney then moved to Los Feliz to visit Ro O. Disney and Ro Iwerks soon joined in as well. However, after Disney contacted the New Blockers City film distributer, Margaret J Winkler, the film 'Alice's Bloxyland' instantly became a hit. Later that year, Disney signed a contract with Margaret to distribute 6 series of the film for R$2000. After O. Disney started to recover, the Disney brothers started the Disney Brothers Studios on October 16th, 1923, to distribute the films.

1925-1930

In 1926, the Disney Studios at Los Feliz had been completed and was renamed to 'Walt Disney Studio'. After several copies of the film were produced, Charles Blox, the husband of Margaret, was handed the responsibility of distributing the films. In 1927, Disney created his first series of fully animated films, starring Osblox the Lucky Rabbit. The series was produced by Winkler and distributed by Universal Pictures. In total, 32 Oswald shorts were created. In 1928, Charles signed 4 of Disneys' primary animators to start his own studio, leaving behind Iwerks as the only primary animator. Walt and Iwerks decided to replace Osblox with a mouse character, namely, Bloxey mouse. In 1928, the studio created several silent films to test the new character and later that year, Disney created the first sound produced cartoon - Steamboat Willie - which featured the mouse. The Pat-powers distribution company distributed the short film, and it became an instant hit. After the film was featured in several cinemas in New Blockers City, Bloxey Mouse became an immensely well-known character. The Disney studios then created several other short films featuring Bloxey. In 1929, the first of the many episodes of the series 'Silly Symphonies' were distributed with Columblox Pictures being the distributor after Disney had some beef with Pat-powers.

1930-1950

After a disagreement with Columblox Pictures regarding the Silly Symphonies cartoon, Walt signed a contract with United Artist to distribute the films in 1932. Later that year, the studio also signed another contract with Technicolor to produce the film in color, beginning with the short 'Flowers and trees' (1932), making it the first film produced in color. Later that year, the short film won the academy award for the best cartoon film. In 1933, The Three Little Pigs, another Symphony short was released and won yet another academy award. The films' song, 'Who's afraid of the big bad wolf', composed by Frank Churchill became so popular and remained throughout the 1930s. In 1934, Walt decided to produce their first full length feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which costed R$2,000,000, way over the original budget of just R$150,000. Despite Ro saying that the film was going to bankrupt Disney Studios, Walt carried on regardless. The film took 3 years to produce and made its debut on August 28th, 1937. Shortly after its debut, the film became the highest film at the time, grossing R$12,000,000; after several more copies were produced, the film grossed a total of R$1 billion. After the sucess, another Disney Studio was built in Santiago.

Just before the release of Snow White, work on the company's next films - Ronocchio and Bloxbi - had begun. While Bloxbi was delayed, Ronocchio ended up receiving two academy awards for Best Song and Best Score. However, the film did poorly at the box office upon release due to the ongoing world war. The next film, Fantbloxia also ended up getting delayed due to the war. In 1941, several Disney animators went on strike for higher pay, but were all fired instead due to suspicion of being communists. During the premiere of The Reluctant Dragon in 1941, the protestors went on strike again, costing the company R$100,000 in damages.

While Disney was sorting out negotiations for the strikers, he sent a bunch of his animators over to South Robloxia for their next film, Dumbo. However, after the attacks from the Neo-Japanese, most of the company's animators were sent to fight in the war. During this time, the studio was used as a training center for soldiers while Disney was tasked to create propaganda animations for Robloxia and was giving R$90,000. The following years, many films were released but failed terribly at the box office due to the crisis. Soon, Disney found himself facing bankruptcy, so he decided to re-release many feature films to gain profits. In 1949, production of the film 'Cinbloxella' began.

1950-1975

In 1950, plans for an amusement park in Santiago were made while Cinbloxella was released. The film became the company's biggest profit in over 10 years and won tons of academy awards, making over R$19 million in just a year. On Christmas the following year, the New Blockers Times aired a promotional video for Disney's upcoming movie, Alice in Bloxaland, which turned out to be a big failure despite winning many academy awards yet again, being R$1 million short of the production budget. Plans for the construction of the amusement park, Disney Park (now known as Disneyland), had finally begun. The amusement park was planned to be right across the Disney Studios HQ and was to have both a theme park and a waterpark. However, Ro was skeptical about the plan and so the company created another subsidiary called 'Disney Tourism' in order to fund Disney Park. The plans for the amusement park were paused in order to make way for the production of Disney's next animated film, 'Beter Ban'. Unfortunately, the film flopped during its release in the box office due to an ongoing economic crisis which lasted from 1953-1961. Plans for the amusement park were continued and no films were produced until the end of the crisis. However, most of the park designers stopped working due to the lack of salary and hence, the building of the park was abandoned, and Disney primarily focused on re-releasing films until the end of the crisis.

In 1960, Walt wanted to improve the standard of animated films. Production of The Death Desert began and was planned to feature two short films. However, the company's distributor, United Artist believed it was against the 1937 Supreme Court ruling and hence, Ro decided to start their own distribution company, Disney Distribution. The film managed to win an Academy Award for best film, but it failed terribly when it reached the box office, being R$6 million short of the production budget due to the Cold War being at its peak. The studio was facing bankruptcy yet again, and so Walt decided to sell his house in Salt Lake to fund both the studio, and the amusement park which was at an estimated cost of R$17,000,000. In 1965, after the company had started to recover from losses, they decided to release their first ever live show, 40,000 Robloxians Under the Sea. Walt started to focus more on other company affairs such as Disney Park and their TV channels. The amusement park soon began construction on January 24th, 1966, and was planned to be completed by the summer of 1967. However, the cost of the construction exceeded their budget of R$17 million, instead, it had costed a whopping R$35,000,000. Nonetheless, the construction of the park in Santiago continued and was completed by the summer of 1967 as planned.

Immediately after Disney Park was open to the public, almost 360,000 Robloxians were already present. There was a total of 24 attractions as most of the other rides had not been completed. Entry fee costed R$1 while guests were required to pay for rides. The opening of the park was broadcasted live on CBA news channel and garnered nearly 300 million viewers, making it the most watched broadcast at the time. Food and drinks sold out within the first few hours, several rides began to malfunction, the 'Willie's Steamboat' attraction began to sink, and the water faucets weren't working in the blazing hot sun. Despite the chaotic opening, the park became a sucess as more and more people began to flock towards the park. Within the first week of opening, the park had already gotten 300,000 Robloxians and had over 20,000 Robloxians coming every day. After the sucess of Disney Park, Walt decided to start the The Bloxey Mouse Club in 1969, which was a variety of shows ranging from Bloxey Mouse cartoons to educational shows and talent shows. Within the first month, over 15 million Robloxians were watching the show daily; Walt decided to start selling merchandise, ranging from Bloxey Mouse ears which the cast wore, to Bloxey t-shirts and bags. After the first season had ended in 1970, the show went from 15 million Robloxians watching daily to 39 million Robloxians watching and had sold over R$12 million worth of merchandise.

In 1972, the company started production on their new feature film, 101 Dalmations, which would be the first animated film to use the xenography technique. The film costed over R$13 million, being the highest production costs for a film. However, the film became instant hit due to the rising popularity of Ro Disney Studios. The same year, Disney Park had managed to attract over 5.7 million Robloxians, making it more popular than the Grand Canyon and Yellowbrick itself. In 1973, Walt contracted paranormal forgor disorder and was given only a year to live. In 1974, Walt worked on his last film, The Jungle Book, which became Disney's most successful film for over three decades. Just 2 weeks after the film was released to the public, on August 8th, 1974, Walt suddenly collapsed and died at the age of 73. Ro was given the responsibility to take over the company. In 1975, the company had decreased from 1200 animation staff to just 500. The company decided to focus on live action instead of animation for a while, seeing that their animation staff had significantly decreased.

1976-2000

On May 5th, 1976, the company worked on its first animated film without Walt, The Aristocrat. Despite the absence of Walt, the film turned out to be great, winning an academy award for having Best Special Visual Effect. Later that year, Ro decided to change "Disney Park" to "Walt Disney World" to keep up Walts' legacy. Following that, 2 resorts as well as another Walt Disney World park called "Magic Kingdom" were built in Island Town, costing R$15 million. Just 2 months later, Ro died from a seizure and his chairman and CEO title was passed to Donn Bloxum. In February the following year, the last film which Ro had worked on, Roblox Hood, was released. The film became Disney's highest international grossing film, grossing at R$26 million. Disney also released several more live-action films throughout the 70s such as 'Now you see him, now you don't' and 'Herblox rides again'. In 1982, Roy E. Disney, the last remaining Disney family member working for the company, stepped out of his position as executive after disagreements with the company.

Profits for the company started to decline as animators resigned from the company due to lack of pay yet again. On April 9th, 1983, the company decided to launch another amusement park for Walt Disney World in Livetopia. The park costed R$1.3 billion to construct and welcomed over 23,000 Robloxians on the first day of its opening. Following that, Bloxum wanted to revamp their park entrances, so instead of the usual counters, they built the iconic Disney castle to welcome visitors. The park also had an 'international world showcase', featuring Bloxico, Luobu, Bloxia Kingdom, Robloxia, Ro-Italy etc. However, profit from animation films started to decline and most of the company's profits came from their theme parks and resorts. In order to overcome the insane loss in profits, Bloxum resorted to old tactics, by making copies of feature films and distributing it. Profits from animation started to rise by 20% the following year but soon dropped yet again. On May 1st, 1984, Disney released Tron, which was their first film to be made using CGI. However, the film received mixed reviews with tons of negative reviews and was considered a failure to Disney. In total, Disney lost R$28 million that year, which was their record loss in over 20 years.

On October 15th, 1985, Disney launched its first theme park outside of Robloxia, in Chengdu, Luobu. The construction of the theme park costed 3.2 billion Robux. Within 1 year of launching, the theme park garnered 21 billion Robloxians. After the company had invested R$1 million the following year, Disney started a pay to watch channel called 'Disney Channel', which would show Disney films and magazines 24 hours a day.

In 1987, Walt's son in law, Ro E. Miller, who had been the president since 1978, was promoted to become the company's CEO and Bloxman Watson became the chairman of the company. Miller wanted the company to be more suitable for mature audiences, therefore Disney founded the distribution company 'Throwstone Miller', with the movie Splash being the first to be released under the distribution company in 1988. In 1990, Disney decided to purchase R$500 million worth of stocks from another company, borrowing 1.3 billion from the bank, putting the company 800 million Robux in debt. A year later, the company's shareholders immediately forced Miller out of his position and replaced his with Bloxer Eisner. The company also acquired Lasky Pictures Corporation and renamed it to "Bloxamount Pictures". Eisner appointed Jeblox Katzerburg, the CEO of RoParamount Pictures, as the company's chairman. Eisner also wanted to build a new studio and made sure to release a film every 1.5 years instead of 4, producing several films using Throwrock distribution. Disney was made more involved in TV shows under Eisner and the company started to rise in popularity again. In 1993, Disney produced their first PG rated film, The Black Bottle, which was the most expensive animated movie at R$40,000,000 in production costs. The film featured the latest CGI, computer generated imagery, and also had an adult theme to it, making it the first PG rated Disney movie. The film became one of Disney's biggest profits, grossing at R$22,000,000. However, the film was considered a disappointment because of how the company expected higher gross profits. Nonetheless, the film ended up winning five academic awards in the span of three years. Following the release of the film, Disney signed a R$100 million contract with Golden Screen Partners to finance their movies.

In 1995, Disney opened their first retail store in Los Feliz, Bloxburg Valley. Because of the stores' success, generating R$2 million yearly, Disney decided to open up more retail stores all around Robloxia and by the 2000s, Disney had over 400 stores across Robloxia. The company managed to get R$300 million in revenues the same year, being the highest profit, the company had seen. In 1996, the studios released four new films, The Giant Mermaid, Beast and the Beauty, Four Men and a Baby as well as Toy Story. which all ended up doing extremely well at the box office, grossing from R$23,000,000 to R$36,000,000. The company's yearly revenue went up from R$431,000,000 to over R$1.7 billion. The same year, all 4 films won several academy awards and Beast and the Beauty managed to win the highest amount of academy awards at the time while The Little Mermaid became the highest grossing film in Disney, grossing at R$36,000,000. The Little Mermaid ended up having over six different movies produced as of now while The Beast and the Beauty had tons of sequels that were mostly short films. In 1998, the company bought a private island that used to be a hub for many infamous drug traffickers and renamed the island to "Castaway Cay". The Disney Cruise Line's newest ship, Disney Fantasie, set off on its maiden voyage to Castaway Cay, the company's private island. On January 3rd, 2000, Disney opened "Animal Kingdom" which was the largest theme park at the time. The theme park offered a ton of rides as well as a zoo.

2001-Present

In 2001, Disney recorded a net loss of nearly R$830 million due to the lack of tourism and the decline in viewership after the terrorist attacks in New Blockers City. In order to cut costs, Disney laid off 10% of their workers, closed 30% of their retail stores, and decreased the income of their workers. This enraged the workers at Disney who went on strike for nearly four months. At 9:30pm, December 16th, 2001, the company's chairman, Jeblox Katzerburg, was assassinated by one of the Disney protestors. He suffered several stab wounds to the torso, arm, leg and died from a cardiac arrest on the way to the hospital. The following day, the original Disney studios as well as the Disney themepark opposite of the studio were both bombed simultaneously. An estimate of 9,000 Robloxian died within these 2 days. Peter Fillia, the guy in charge of the assassination and bombing was quickly arrested and sentenced to death by lethal injection. Frank Bloxxerwells was then assigned to be the company's new chairman. In 2003, Miller decided to retire and called on Eisner to retire as well. That same week, Stanley Gold, the company's board member also decided to retire. In 2004, the company's shareholder tried to force Eisner out of his position to retire just as well but were turned down. Nonetheless, Eisner decided to retire and give pass on his role to George Ro. Mitblox. That year, Disney lost a total of R$988 million, making it the biggest company loss until today, and it was thought that it would be the end for Disney.

In 2006, as Disney was starting to recover and gain back small profits again, Mitblox decided to rebuild the original Disney studios and the Disney themepark in Santiago. In total, the construction costs for both the studio and the theme park costed R$21,000,000,000. In 2008, Disney decided to acquire Bloxar from the famous entrepreneur, Steve Jobless, for 12.4 billion Robux and Mitblox appointed Bloxar head of board, John Ro-sseter, and CEO Ed Dogmull as the head of Disney Animation Studios. Disney started production of the live-action film, Soldiers of the Bloxitarranean, in 2008, and released it onto Bloxar in Summer, 2009. It turned out to be Disney's biggest hit and was the highest grossing film ever produced until today, grossing at R$6,000,000,000. In 2010, Disney reached a net profit of R$5.14 billion and decided to construct its 20th theme park in Bali, United Roblox of Indonesia. The theme park was set to be Disney's 2nd largest theme park seeing the rise in tourism at Bali and sold over 38,000 tickets on the first day of opening and within the first hour, a quarter of the restaurants at the theme park closed down due to the lack of stock. The same year, Disney traded rights for Osblox the Lucky Rabbit and all cartoons featuring Osblox in exchange for most of CBA network. The same year before Christmas, the chairman Frank Bloxxerwells contracted life threatening cancer and unfortunately, a year later in 2011, he succumbed. He was replaced by one of the company's board member, Johnson Bloxek. A few months later after Johnson became the chairman of the company, the live-action film 'College Musical' aired for the first time and was just nearly as successful as Soldiers of the Bloxitarranean and both movies ended up getting multiple sequels. The same year, Disney released Mousatatouille and Blox-E, both being tremendous success for the company, winning several awards with Mousatouille being awarded the Best Animated Film. In 2012, Disney announced a distribution deal with Dreamblox to distribute their films through Throwstone pictures. Disney would be receiving 25% of the gross income. Shortly after, the movie 'Down' reached the box office and garnered R$1.2 billion. In December, the company partnered up with the Ro-News Corporation NBCRobloxverse in a deal where all parties would get 30% of the shares in Disney's streaming service Hulu. CBA News and the Disney channel were soon added into Hulu.

On January 27th, 2013, Ro E. Disney died at the age of 72, marking the end of the Disney's family's reign over Disney itself. In March the following year, Isra-Robloxian entrepreneur Haim Bloxan reacquired the Power Guardians franchise from Disney for R$200 million. Shortly after, Bloxald Tutor, the leader of an investment company acquired Mirror Max Films for nearly R$1 billion. Subsequently, Alice in Bloxyland and Toy Story 3 were released, and both grossed over R$200 million. Toy Story 3 became the first animated film to gross over R$200 million. In 2015, Disney released Winnie the Boo and Pirates of the Bloxitarranean: On Known Tides, which both garnered a billion at the box office. In April that year, Disney planned to build the company's 25th theme park, Ranghai Disney Resort, located in Luobu, costing R$14.4 billion to build. Subsequently, the company also purchased Bloxar and Bloxel Studios, which turned out to be yet another success, while Mitblox began to make decisions whether to buy new characters or businesses. and in December 2015, Disney bought Parkerfilms from George Parker for R$6.09 billion and the company gained access to franchise movies such as Blox Wars, Texas Jones and multiple video games. On February 11th, 2016, Disney acquired multiple distribution companies across Bloxasia, expanding the Disney market all across Bloxasia and Blox Parker became Disney's chairman after Frank Bloxxerwells decided to retire. The Bloxel film The Revengers became the 2nd highest grossing Disney film at the box office, with an initial release gross of R$1.69 billion and making R$1.3 billion at the box office. Shortly after, Iron Man 3, Frozen as well as merchandise for both movies were both released at the same time. The 2 films were incredibly successful and even the merchandise itself profited the company R$1 billion. A year later, Disney announced that they would no longer be making 2D animation films, therefore closing the hand-drawn division and many of the company's veteran animators were laid off; the company also merged their consumer products and interactive divisions to form the Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media subsidiary. In 2019, the company bought Bloxtech for R$5.3 billion and renamed it to Disney Streaming. 4 movies and 1 live-action film: Animaltopia, Bloxel film Commander Robloxia: Civil War, Finding Rody, Rogue 2, a Blox Wars story, Beauty and the Beast: Live-action, were also released in 2019 as well as another Disneyland in Ranghai, making the company a total of R$22.2 billion in profit. Since the launching of Disney Streaming, Disney dropped their distribution contract with Bloxflix.

The Coblox-19 pandemic

In 2020, Disney reported its first loss in nearly 20 years, losing over R$3.2 billion with an 85% fall in earnings and subscriptions to a mere 900 million compared to the 11.3 billion the previous year. Disney also decided to temporarily close all of its attractions including the 28 theme parks and the company's cruise line. Disney also laid off nearly 50% of its employees but had promised to pay for healthcare.

In 2021, Throwstone distribution company ceased operations due to the pandemic and the company signed a deal with Bony, allowing Disney to have access to Bony films throughout the pandemic.

Disney operations began to resume in 2023 as usual. Disney also hosted a "100 years of wonder" campaign to celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the company's founding since 1923. The campaign included a new Disney intro, an exhibition, special events at Disneyland Parks as well as a commercial that aired during the Super Cup 2023.

Awards

As of 2031, Disney has won 234 academy awards, 54 of them were awarded to Walt Disney. The company has won several awards for Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Music, Best Visual Effects etc. The company has also won 69 Golden Globe awards and several Grammies as well as the Bloxscars.

Legacy and impact on the media industries

Disney has been recognized for revolutionizing the animation industry ~ The Bloxburg Valley News

The Walt Disney Company is currently Roblox's most popular and largest entertainment companies and had set itself as the pioneer in the animation industry since the 1950s, revolutionizing the animation industry and shaping media as it is today. The company has over 1000 films, and nearly half of which are animated. Disney has also created some of the most renowned characters in the film industry, such as Bloxey Mouse, Steel Man, Commander Robloxia etc.

Disney has taken several risks that could potentially bankrupt the company, such as making the first animated feature film, Snow White. Not only that, but Disney has also revolutionized animation technology and has invented several techniques such as CGI, xenography, and the invention of the multi-plane camera.

Disney is one of Roblox's highest revenues generating companies and is the most admired company according to Fortune. It has also been described to be a symbol of pure Robloxia by many news articles as well while Bloxey Mouse has become a common household name. Disney theme parks have since garnered over 432 million Robloxians, making it one of the most visited theme park companies as well as a tough competitor for other theme park companies. Even many news articles undoubtedly agree that Disney has even changed the theme park industry claiming that Disney World has changed entertainment by showing how a theme park could help make a company into a lifestyle brand.

Controversies

Since the company's founding, there have been numerous allegations over Disney for plagiarism, racism, monopoly etc.

Plagiarism

The first major controversy about plagiarism was in 1982 when the lion queen was released, Akira Toyama accused Disney of plagiarizing his work in 1942 titled Lions. Disney denied all allegations about plagiarism his 1942 work and showing the differences between his and Disney's. However, this would later be mentioned again in 2018/2019 when an anonymous user wrote about the similarities of Akira's and Disney's and questioning if those allegations were real since the writing, animation, and story came from Akira's Lions film. The company later faced backlash over these claims. Disney later admitted that the film was plagiarized but they also mentioned that some of the things that the anonymous user said were not true.

Racism

Several old Disney films have been criticized for including major aspects of racism; one such film 'Songs of Bloxveld' (1936), was so heavily criticized that despite the stunning visual effects, the film ended up never releasing to the public. Another film which was criticized, Fantasia, had a character named 'Lavender', who was a black centaur serving a white one. In fact, it was not just the character 'Lavender who was criticized; other characters who have been described to be racist were the Siamese cats in Women and the Trump, who have been considered to overexaggerate Luobese Robloxians; stereotypes of native Bloxveldans in Beter Ban; and crows in Dumbo, who were depicted as Robloxian Bloxveldans.
