Super League UROI, also commonly called Liga 1, is a professional soccer league of the United Roblox of Indonesia football league system. The Super League is contested by 18 teams and it is administered by the UROI-League governed by FAFI. It operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Super League UROI being the top tier, the second tier being the Liga Championship and the third tier being Liga R-Nusantara
Prior to the creation of the Super League, there was Perserikatan League (PL) which ran from 1933 to 1994 which was created by many prominent clubs during the Netherbloxian times. The Galatama created by the football assosciation in 1979 for semi-professional teams was also created before the Super League UROI. The UROI Football Assosciation created the Super League UROI to merge the Perserikatan League and the Galatama to one league. Since then, infastructure and quality has been improving with more fairer referees and better management.
The format of the league is the usually a full League System where the team with the highest points wins it but during the 2023-2024 season, there was a playoff for the top 4 clubs. Currently Persir Ro-Bandung has won back to back the 2023-2024 season and the 2024-2025 season. Currently the champions go to the playoffs for a spot in the BFC Champions League Two and if they lose they go to the BFC Challenge League while the runner up instantly qualifies for the BFC Challenge League.
History
During the Netherbloxian times, there were already local football clubs like the Ro-Bandung Club and the Bloxkarta Club but also other pro Netherbloxian Clubs. After the United Roblox of Indonesia gained independence, the local clubs already had their own league called the Perserikatan League with mostly Persiblox Bloxkarta being the champions. There is also a historical rivalry between Persir Ro-Bandung against PSRMS Ro-Medan called the Classic Match and also Persir Ro-Bandung against Persiblox Bloxkarta called the Classic. After many decades of the Perserikatan existing, the Galatama was created in 1979 by the UROI football association which is a semi pro league. After a while, the Football Association merged both of them forming the Bloxdonesian Premier League in 1994 which soon became the Super League UROI in 2025.
