Stepford County Railway, commonly known as SCR, is a rail system that that operates throughout Stepford County, located in the Bloxia Kingdom. The railway network consists of four primary train lines, namely Stepford Connect, Waterline, Airlink, and Stepford Express, and two shuttle services, the Airlink Shuttle and the Morganstown Shuttle, as well as a rapid transit operator, Stepford Metro.
SCR is owned and managed by Transport for Stepford, the leading company responsible for the railway system. With it being the most expansive rail network in the Bloxia Kingdom, it covers most of Stepford County and connects different areas of the county such as Stepford City, Leighton City, Westwyvern, Benton, Bodin, Stepford BanTech, Llyn-by-the-Sea, Morganstown, Newry, Connolly, Esterfield, Millcastle, Greenslade, Whitefield, Stepford United Football Club, Coxly, Elsemere Junction, Willowfield, Northshore, and Beechley.
The railway system was founded on March 15, 2017, by Charlie, BanTech, and Sanjeev, and opened to the public on November 25, 2017. Initially, the system was simple, but BanTech Systems made it more complex on April 21, 2018, with the release of "The Big Update.” It was created to merge several local railway companies, into four.
SCR provides job opportunities for drivers (QD, TD), dispatchers (DS), guards (GD), and signallers (SG). Drivers operate the trains and transport passengers to their destination, while dispatchers make sure that the train is ready to depart. They are mostly found at busy stations. Guards close doors, assist in emergencies, on Waterline trains, perform ticket collection, for stations without ticket machines, sell tickets to passengers, and make sure the train is safe to depart. Signallers manage the signal aspects, and the track position at sets of points.
Despite being a highly efficient railway system, SCR has had several controversies over the years such as worker strikes, insufficient funding for Connect and poor working conditions.
Map of the network. Includes the 4 lines.
The system uses a currency called "Points," which is used for every staff member and operator. Points can be bought with the Bloxia Kingdom Pound or earned by driving trains on routes to serve passengers. Points can be used to purchase new trains and routes.

Trainings
Trainings play a major part on SCR. They are used to teach workers about the rules of the job, safety standards, and more.
To enroll in the training program, Robloxians need to first submit an application and pass a theory quiz. The application process involves joining the SCR group, and the theory quiz includes questions related to the worker guides for each respective rank. The quiz is recommended by the staff team and serves as a tool for Robloxians to understand how each rank works, what to do, and what not to do.
If a Robloxian fails the quiz, they must wait for a few days before they can retake it. Upon passing the quiz, they must select a suitable time for the training session. The system automatically assigns them to a training session based on their availability and the rank they are applying for.
The training takes place in a designated training center, where Robloxians are required to stand on one of the lines until the training begins. The supervisor is usually a high-rank staff member, briefs the Robloxians on what they are required to do during the training session. The assessments then begin, and Robloxians must follow the instructions given by the higher staff to demonstrate their competencies.
If a Robloxian fails the assessment, they must wait for a week before they can retake it. However, they must go through the allocation process again. But if they pass, they are automatically given the job they applied for.
In March 2023, the training centers for Drivers (QD), Dispatchers (DS), and Guards (GD) were relocated to new areas in Stepford County because of the lack of space. The training centers were moved from Stepford Central (QD) and Stepford UFC (SCR Training Center, DS, GD) to Elsemere Pond, Houghton Rake, and Greenslade. These new training centers include five separate lines for trainings, along with waiting areas. The previous training centers (SC, SUFC) were demolished after the relocation.
The following three headings mention lines that are accessible to the public. We will not mention lines that are training-exclusive per implicit non-disclosure agreements made by Stepford County Railway in Roblox.
Stepford Connect
Stepford Connect, formerly known as Connect, is the primary rail operator of Stepford County Railway, which is an integral part of the Transport for Stepford and SCR railway network. It provides an extensive range of services to various districts and cities across Stepford County, including Stepford City, Morganstown, Westwyvern, Leighton City, Bodin, Benton, Coxly, Willowfield, Llyn-by-the-Sea, and Stepford BanTech International Airport.
The Stepford Main Line is currently the longest route of Stepford Connect, covering a distance from Stepford Central to Llyn-by-the-Sea using Route 24 (R024). This route has the maximum number of stops on the network and takes around 44 minutes to complete one-way. The route's primary hubs are located at Stepford Central and Stepford East in Stepford City, as many drivers begin their journey at the Stepford City depot next to Stepford East.
Stepford Connect offers a Rapid transit/Commuter rail hybrid system, that uses mainline style trains (For an example, see here). It operates between major centers. It differs from services like Waterline, which serves intermediate stations between large areas. The trains on this route have a maximum speed of 110 MPH and a minimum of 75 MPH, with an average speed of 100 MPH.
Stepford Connect uses a bright blue color scheme, which is used on network maps, trains, advertisements, and its emblem. This color scheme was introduced as part of the renewed franchise launched on May 1, 2020, branded as Stepford Connect. Before May 1, 2020, the operator was known as Connect (it still uses this name for short) and used a dark turquoise color scheme.
In March 2023, Stepford Connect began a major renovation project to modernize one of its stations, Angel Pass, after receiving numerous complaints from staff and customers about its outdated facilities. It is now complete as of December 2023.
History
Connect started its services on the 25th of November 2017 using the Class 700 trains from Stepford Town (now Stepford Central) to Port Benton. The operator also started services to Airport Central at the former Stepford International Airport, providing a link between Stepford City and the airport.

2024
On August 12th, 2024, Stepford Connect opened the Rayleigh Bay Branch. This branch line was opened in 1879 under the Great Stepford Railway, which ran five times a day passenger service and 4 freight trains, two in each direction, until 1915 when service was increased due to a ammunition factory which was supplying Bloxia during Roblox War I , and kept a frequency of 10 passenger trains, five in each direction each day and 10 freight trains a day until its closure to passenger service in 1966, and later closure to freight in 2009 before the formation of SCR, under a different company. The branch starts at a junction east of Edgemead on the Stepford Main Line and has three stations, which are: Aslockby, Carnalea Bridge, and Rayleigh Bay. Simultaneously, Stepford Connect remodeled existing several stations. Overhauls were carried out at Edgemead, Faymere, Millcastle, and Water Newton, and certain stations previously managed by Stepford Connect were transferred to Stepford Express, including Northshore and Westwyvern. This also saw the introduction of new train sets to Stepford Connect's fleet. The Class 156, Class 385, and Class 170 were introduced to its fleet, and existing train sets have undergone upgrades and improvements.
Because of the lack of overhead wires, electric train sets cannot run along Rayleigh Bay Branch, allowing only diesel train sets to operate on this route, adding another area along with Newry Harbour, and the Morganstown flyover that are diesel only. The Introduction Rayleigh Bay Branch expansion has brought forth the addition of new routes on both Stepford Connect and Stepford Express. Stepford Connect has seen over 5 new routes added, while Stepford Express has incorporated a new route into its network, and Stepford Connect's uniforms have also undergone a new revamp.
In 2025, multiple SCR head officials have resigned from the company over low pay. Strike action has been taking place since January, which has caused service disruptions.

Waterline
Waterline, stylized as waterline, is a short distance operator that serves Stepford County, which is a part of the Transport for Stepford and SCR railway network. Its services connect various districts, cities, and towns across Stepford County, such as Benton, Newry, Connolly, Terminal 2 (T2), and Airport West station in Stepford BanTech. It also operates in Greenslade, Morganstown via the Morganstown Shuttle from Benton, James Street, Farleigh, Rosedale Village, and Esterfield.

Waterline began its operations on December 20, 2017, and because of the fact that it uses mainline rolling stock, but has short short station distances (shorter than Stepford Connect) and due to the short travel times and the limited number of stations it serves. The trains on this route have a maximum capacity of 100 MPH. A full journey on its main route using Route 14 (R014) from Newry to Esterfield takes approximately 16 minutes one way. Another route from Newry on Route 17 (R017) to Stepford BanTech Terminal 2 takes around 14 minutes one way. Previously, Waterline was a sub-franchise of Stepford Connect and was operating under the brand name WaterLine with a navy-blue color scheme. As of May 1, 2020, it has become a separate franchise and operates under a new color scheme of greyish-blue on its trains, network map, advertisements, and emblem.
2022 Waterline extension
On August 27, 2022, a significant expansion of the Waterline network was completed alongside the airport re-make project. The Waterline extension included a new hub/terminus called Esterfield and three new stations: Farleigh station, Rosedale Village station, and Esterfield station. This expansion marked the final extension of the Waterline network, with no plans for further extensions by the network staff, as of 2025. The extension project also involved the creation of a new route to Terminal 2 after Airport West, which serves as a terminus for Waterline at Terminal 2. The James Street station was rebuilt underground due to concerns raised by the network's customers and staff about the old design and safety of the old station.
Airlink
Airlink is a semi-high speed railway service and airport link that operates in Stepford County as part of the larger Transport for Stepford and SCR railway network. Formerly known as AirExpress, the operator was rebranded as Airlink on May 14, 2019, with a new bright orange color scheme for its emblem, trains, and network maps. The line connects Stepford BanTech International Airport the main airport, with various hubs and stations along the way, including Stepford East, Elsemere Junction, Morganstown, St. Helens Bridge, Berrily, and Leighton Stepford Road. It is classified as a semi-high rail link because it skips the majority of stations served by Connect, similar to Stepford Express. The trains on this line can reach speeds of up to 125 miles per per hour, with an average speed of around 100 miles per hour.
Airlink Shuttle serves as an airport people mover, providing transportation to and from Stepford BanTech International Airport. It has designated stops at Terminal 1 for Domestic and International Departures, Terminal 2 for International Departures, and Terminal 3 for Domestic Departures. Additionally, it stops at Airport Parkway, which is convenient for passengers who parked their cars far from the airport. This service begun in response to passengers trying to get inter-terminal transport. Originally buses were used, and passengers could take normal AirLink, but it isn’t guaranteed that it will stop at certain stations, and if it does, you would have to change at Stepford Airport Parkway or Stepford Airport Central for a train to your terminal. Buses are still used by AirLink to connect terminals whenever the tracks are closed down for maintenance, or on busier days can be taken into service, or during service disruptions to the shuttle. The journey from Stepford Central to the main airport takes around 8 minutes one way, using Route 51. However, passengers can take a more extended route with more stops going east on Route 54, which takes around 11 minutes one way, via St. Helens Bridge and Berrily.
The Airlink Shuttle operates between Airport Parkway, Airport Central, Terminal 1, Terminal 3, and reverses direction to head to T3. The service exclusively uses 7-coach Class 345 trains.

2022 Airport construction upgrade
On January 21st, 2022, a massive redevelopment project began at the old Stepford International Airport, which involved the demolition of the existing infrastructure to make way for the new Stepford BanTech International Airport. The demolition of the old airport was completed within two months, and then the construction work began on April 5th. The first phase of the redevelopment project focused on revamping Airport Parkway, which included constructing new parking garages, building new platforms, and creating a new entrance. During this phase of the project, Airlink services were suspended until the airport was completed. Once the groundworks were complete, the tracks from Morganstown to Airport Central were rebuilt. The central airport area was also revamped, and it was relocated near the hotels and parking area. Terminal 1 was rebuilt underground, and it now has connections to the namesake terminal and arrivals.
Terminal 2 was also revamped, and it was relocated to the surface level from the underground. Unlike before, it is now not connected to the airport but located near Terminal 2. The tracks near Terminal 2 were rebuilt, allowing Waterline and Connect to terminate at Terminal 2. Terminal 3 saw a major transformation during the redevelopment project. It was rebuilt and relocated to the surface level down below Terminal 3. This new location added another new platform and provided connections to Terminal 3. After months of construction work, the airport was finally completed on August 27th.
Stepford Express
Stepford Express is a high-speed rail operator in Stepford County. It is a mix between commuter rail and high speed rail. The services between Stepford Central and other termini, including but not limited to Benton, Newry, Leighton Stepford Road, Leighton City, Morganstown, Westwyvern, St. Helens Bridge, and a terminus at Llyn-by-the-Sea. The operator uses a dark purple color scheme which is displayed on its network map, trains, advertisements, and emblem. The rebranding of the operator to Stepford Express was done on 29 October 2020, replacing the previous name, Express. Stepford Express is classified as a high-speed rail route due to its fast trains and its ability to bypass many of the stations operated by operators Stepford Connect and Waterline. The rolling stock of the service is specifically designed for high-speed routes, allowing it to reach a maximum speed of 125 MPH for all trains. In recent months, the operator has introduced changes that have led to the line stopping at smaller stations such as Westercoast, Eden Quay, and Newry Harbour, which were previously served only by Waterline. Because of these changes, the service can now be classified as semi-high-speed on these routes, making it both high-speed and semi-high-speed.
A full journey on the main line, from Stepford Central to Llyn-by-the-Sea on Route 77 (R077) on the Stepford Main Line, takes approximately 23 minutes via Benton. However, a faster, nonstop version can complete the same route on Route 78 (R078) in just 22 minutes. For a nonstop journey, Route 81 (R081), takes 17 minutes to complete the same journey.

Stepford County boycotts
Stepford Express has recently been caught in controversy, as a train hit the buffers. Dweller from BBC News has reported on the incident. There were also protests at Llyn-By-The Sea boycotting the Express as a whole. Following the crash, an investigation was launched by the Ro-British Transport Police.

2022 Newry Extension
On April 1st, 2022, the official Stepford Express X account posted an image of a Class 43 train on the platform of Newry Harbour, which had caught the attention of many Robloxians. Despite several users interpreting the image as a prank, it turned out to be real after the Newry Line was upgraded with an ex-Stepford Connect class 68 locomotive. The upgrade allowed the class 43s to use the newly constructed Newry depot, and the line terminates at both Newry and Newry Harbour. Stepford Express then contributed 25% of their profits to the improvement of the line, which was welcomed by many passengers. However, some customers and staff members voiced their concerns about the expansion of the line towards Newry and Newry Harbour. They argued that the line is designed for high-speed trains and that the addition of semi-high-speed operators may affect the overall quality of the service.
Stepford Metro
Stepford Metro, commonly referred to as Metro, is a rapid transit operator, which is a part of Stepford County Railway, which operates under the umbrella of Transport for Stepford. It had opened to the public on May 11, 2025, making it the first of its kind in Stepford County Railway. It provides an extensive range of services to various districts across the Stepford region, including Stepford Central, Willowfield, Stepford United Football Club, St. Helens Bridge, Benton, Elsemere Junction, Coxly and Coxly Newtown, Morganstown, Beechley, Stepford Victoria, and High Street.
On December 29, 2024, Metro released an initial teaser, accompanied by the slogan "New year, new me," set against a red background that will be Metro's color palette. This was followed by a sneak peek on New Year's Day of 2025, which showed a Class 777 train with a designated terminus at Stepford Central. There has been speculation that the operator will use a third rail system for power, as the Class 777 does not feature pantographs. However, the Class 777/1 is capable of drawing power from onboard batteries, making it possible that Stepford Metro might operate on un-electrified lines or without third rail, making it potentially the first operator in the region to adopt such a system.
On March 17, 2025, Metro had released a third teaser to the public on social media showcasing an unnamed Metro station with green brick walls, showing a Class 756 train on a platform.
Metro uses a bright bright red color scheme, which is used across its train designs, network maps, branding, and advertising materials. This choice diverges from an earlier red color scheme conceived in 2017, which was ultimately shelved before being brought back in a revised form.
Originally, Metro was proposed as an underground metro service aimed at connecting Stepford City with various regions throughout Stepford County, including areas such as Winstree, Coxly, Morganstown, Whitefield, Berrily, and the Stepford BanTech International Airport.
The revived metro project begun construction in 2019 as an underground improved Connect route, but in January 2025, it was announced that it would be a metro operator instead. It opened for regular passenger service on May 10th, 2025.
Construction
In 2016, the Transport for Stepford Board of Directors unanimously approved a plan to construct an 8-mile long tunnel aimed at significantly enhancing the existing Stepford Connect services through the introduction of a central subway line. By 2018, the project progressed with the procurement and assembly of two state-of-the-art Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs), a process that spanned three months. During this period, tests on soil conditions were conducted alongside preliminary research to ensure the integrity of the planned tunnel.
The first TBM, named “Shovel of Bodin,” was launched on March 5th, 2019, marking a pivotal moment in the project. However, less than a year later, the unforeseen outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic caused substantial delays, leading to a pause in work on May 7th, 2020, after only 2.8 miles of tunnel had been excavated. Construction activities resumed in September of that year as lockdown restrictions eased, allowing a second boring machine to be launched shortly thereafter.
A detailed January 2021 report projected the completion of the new line by 2024. This development would liberate the existing Stepford Main Line for mainline, Express, Airlink, and long-distance trains, necessitating the closure of the Willowfield Branch, which would be replaced by the new underground line. The construction team quietly excavated a station box beneath Stepford Central, utilizing a former truck tunnel, in addition to work at Stepford East.
By December 2023, it was officially announced that all 8 miles of tunneling had been successfully completed. Various factors contributed to the delays, including the installation of structural supports to safely construct beneath the Main Line and the construction of a new tunnel portal beyond Financial District on an existing railway line. By March of the following year, primary tunneling was finished, and roadheaders were engaged in digging cross tunnels between April and May.
In July of the same year, a flooding incident at a tunneling site near Stepford Central led to a collapse, attributed to the discovery of a long-neglected 70-year-old water main encountered during excavation. In a noteworthy development in 2022, a last-minute extension was authorized to reach Barton, allowing the team to continue digging the loop. By February of the following year, all tunneling endeavors were wrapped up.
Efforts then shifted towards upgrading certain branches of Stepford Connect to full rapid transit standards, including the elevation of the intersection at Hemdon Park Station into a full overpass. A significant milestone was reached in August 2025 with the completion of the escalator shaft leading to the Metro Concourse at Central Station, while the concourse and platforms were finalized by October.
However, setbacks persisted; the station box at Four Ways experienced flooding due to an aging water pipe, marking the second such issue encountered in the project's history. On New Year’s Day 2025, Transport for Stepford announced that a franchise would be awarded to a consortium comprising Stepford Tunnel plc, Potato Transit Authority Global Operations, and the county government. This consortium was tasked with operating the new metro line, which would function independently of the existing Connect services. Additionally, it was revealed that the new metro line would operate its own rolling stock, with the exception of the Class 717 trains, which would consist of upgraded sets transitioned from Stepford Connect. These upgrades were made possible as many routes previously operated by Connect integrated into Stepford Metro.
History
The Metro operator was initially proposed when Stepford County Railway launched its services to the public on 25 November 2017. This was supposed to create a rapid rail transit system that would connect Stepford City with several key districts throughout the county, including Winstree, Coxly, Morganstown, Whitefield, Berrily, and Stepford BanTech International Airport. Given its design and the short travel durations between stations, the Metro could have been categorized as commuter rail; but due to the expansive reach of its network, it also had the characteristics of a regional rail system.

2018
In April 2018, a major change occurred with the release of The Big Update to Stepford County Railway. This update resulted in the discontinuation and complete dismantling of the Metro operator. The accompanying infrastructure, including the Metro Loop and Winstree station, was either demolished or transferred to Stepford Connect, while locations like Coxly Newtown and Upper Staploe were left abandoned. Despite the operator's termination, plans for various branch extensions were retained, but were then repurposed for future extensions of Stepford Connect.
By December 2018, the railway underwent a series of refurbishments, culminating in the completion of several new stations. Most notably, is that stations along the Morganstown Branch and those situated between Stepford Central and Stepford Victoria were opened under the Stepford Connect banner, used to operate under Metro. Also, Beechley and Willowfield stations were re-branded to City Hospital and Financial Quarter, respectively.
2019
In April 2019, new stations along the Whitefield Branch were launched, again under Stepford Connect. With this, only two stations—Coxly Newtown and Upper Staploe—remained abandoned and without service.
2021
In late October 2021, the Directors of Stepford County Railway hosted a public Q&A session. During this session, the official confirmation of Metro’s discontinuation was announced to the public.

On 29 December 2024, a teaser was released on Stepford County Railway's official social media account. The post had a text box displaying the phrase "New year, new me," abruptly cut off, against a red background, similarly to the former metro color.
The following day, Product Developer LetsGamingDev, a staff member of Stepford County Railway, made a series of posts anticipating for a Metro train’s arrival. After this, people had begun to speculate that Metro could be making a comeback soon.

Reception/Notable incidents
The railway (most notably Transport for Stepford) company has been caught of controversy.
Worker strike incident
Stepford Connect, the primary railway company in Stepford County, has been experiencing severe financial difficulties due to insufficient funding from the government. The company is currently struggling to meet the demands of its employees, which has led to worker strikes and complaints of poor working conditions. In a recent interview with the BBC, Barry, a veteran railway worker with 35 years of experience working for the company, highlighted the dire situation and the challenges faced by the staff team.
Never been one of those people to complain much, but lately we've been treated unfairly by the Management team. Our office quarters are small and untidy, and they've cut salaries twice over the past year.
Barry described the difficult working conditions faced by the company's employees, stating that the Management team had been treating them unfairly. He noted that the office quarters were small and untidy, and salaries had been cut twice over the past year. Despite his dissatisfaction with the company's treatment of its employees, Barry did not participate in the strikes, as he is working on a very low salary and needs the money to sustain his family.
Life is tough at the moment, so I need to do everything I can get paid for what I do, this straight nonsense is great for me, since all they do is give me extra work and refuse to pay me any overtime for what I've served, so I can't even go to the pub and have a pint, like I used to. Absolute crap this. Barry, citing about his family, talking with the reporter.
In addition, Barry also mentioned the issue of unpaid overtime, stating that the company would give him extra work without paying him for it. He expressed frustration at the fact that he could no longer afford to go to the pub and have a pint, as he used to do before the financial crisis hit the company.
The Stepford County Police recently launched an investigation into the way the railway company is treating its workers, which has raised concerns about potential misconduct. The head chief of Stepford County Police spoke to the BBC about the investigation, stating that while Transport for Stepford has maintained standards expected from a railway operator, they believe that the company may be hiding things from them if any worker is unsatisfied.
Well, from what we have seen recently, Transport for Stepford has kept-up standard with what we would expect from a railway operator. Though, if a worker is unsatisfied anymore, we're convinced that the railway company may be hiding things from us. Head Chief of Stepford County Police, interview with reporter
The CEO of Stepford County Railway declined to do an interview with the BBC but has issued a public statement on the matter. The statement, however, did not address the concerns raised by the employees and the ongoing investigation by the Stepford County Police. (this is lore)
