History
It was formed as Improvement District No. 194 as the Mackanzi Region No. 2. It was split in 1997 as the MD of Slave River No. 34.
Geography
It is located in the Slave tree areas and foothills. It borders Mackanzi County to the north, RFC(Red Foothills County) to the east, Teadgreen, Metro Edmonton, and Parksland County to the south, and Kenz Fraser Municipality to the west
