Robloxiapedia, previously known as Roblox Cities Wiki, is a comprehensive English-language online encyclopedia that is completely free to use. It is a collaborative effort maintained by a community of Fandom/Roblox users who contribute to the site through a wiki-based editing system. Robloxiapedia is a platform where users can create their own cities and towns, as well as fictional places, characters (known as Robloxians), narrative feature films, and TV series.
Robloxiapedia was conceived by Matt, also known as 5o-o-o5, who launched the wiki on July 23, 2011. However, the site initially struggled to gain traction and the creator, giving up, left by August 2014. However, a revival of sorts began in November 2019 (when ChikoritaTheRobloxian was an anonymous user) which led to an increase in popularity, and by 2021, Robloxiapedia was brought back from the passively monitored dead and had become a hit with more users. It was originally created to help users create fictional disasters, RSCPs, and histories, but a second wiki was created in 2021. However, due to the fact that the bureaucrat wanted to moderate only one encyclopedia and that he wanted to support a large content creation platform, the second wiki was officially removed by June 2024. Robloxiapedia has been praised by its local users for its ease of use, high-quality articles, and comprehensive coverage.
Robloxiapedia has previously launched two site-wide projects, which were TeamCities and Spoken Robloxiapedia. The TeamCities project focuses on cleaning up the city aspect of the wiki by removing any city page without a disclosed population or categorizing it into one of four categories while enforcing the mandate that every settlement article must have a population disclosed. Meanwhile, the Spoken Robloxiapedia project is focused on creating audio articles in Robloxiapedia, launched in January 2023.

Early history (2011-2018)

Roblox Cities Wiki was officially launched on July 23, 2011, at 20:35 by a user named 5o-o-o5, who also goes by the name Matt (possible first name), on the website Wikia (former name of Fandom). He created the first ever article on the same day at 20:54, which was initially titled as Roblox City but is now known as Bloxburg. For several months, starting on September 1, 2011, he worked tirelessly alongside Wikia, Stormtrooper477, and Default (whose identity is unknown) to create and heavily edit several pages, including the very first image on the platform.
After that, he completely abandoned the wiki and did not make any further edits until August 2014, when he made his final edit about Stormburg International Airport on September 11 of that year. This edit has been described as the one that "dropped the wiki dead". After that, it was uncertain whether the wiki would ever be revived again. However, a year before 2014, some unknown users started editing the wiki and praised 5o-o-o5 for his work. They even had the potential to add new fictional cities and countries to the platform. At that time, the wiki reportedly had only 10-20 pages.
Revitalization and later history (2019-present)
On April 15, 2019, a user named ObloCoffe joined Roblox Cities Wiki with the intention of updating it as it was extremely outdated. However, he gave up on his plan just a day later and did not continue with his efforts. Later that year, on November 24, 2019, an unregistered user called ChikoritaROBLOXHurricanes joined the wiki and started making edits, which led to a revival of the encyclopedia. He discovered the leaderboard and realized he could earn badges and points by editing, which motivated him to beat the original creator's score. In March 2020, another user named Dr. Sunris joined the wiki and made his first edit about Meepcity. By April, he had beaten the top contributor on the leaderboard, 5o-o-o5. Around this time, the wiki had a purple theme. In December 2020, a new user named AmigoVilla2004 began editing the wiki, creating his first article and editing Palm County, Robloxia.
On March 25, 2020 - in the early days of the lockdown, another user, called Dr. Sunris also made his first edit on an article about Meepcity. In April of the same year, he beat 5o-o-o5 as the top contributor on the leaderboard, resulting in Chikorita152b working hard to get to the top as well, but only getting 60 points, 22 edits, and only one post before deleting his account for "clean slate purposes," as he was warned by an bureaucrat and felt like that would ruin his chances of being trustworthy. At this point in time, the wiki had a purple theme. By mid-2021, the wiki was completely revived with more and more users contributing. However, on May 21-23, 2021, the wiki was vandalized by a user named Baldisbasicsleaning who denied the existence of Robloxia and called the wiki fake. ChikoritaROBLOXHurricanes mini-moderated him and blocked him from the wiki. A week later, on May 29, 2021, ChikoritaROBLOXHurricanes adopted the wiki and made major changes to enforce policies and improve safety.
In June 2021, the wiki introduced a new skin and changed its name from Roblox Cities Wiki to Robloxiapedia. In July 2021, the wiki celebrated its 10-year anniversary by changing its font to Comic Sans MS and brightening up the colors. In August 2021, the skin was changed again to FandomDesktop, which was initially poorly received. In September 2021, Chikorita started updating the website to resemble the Rodows 7 Classic theme. In November 2021, the Robloxiapedia bureaucracy announced that they would make more CSS changes to the website. In January 2022, the wiki was vandalized again by a user who was blocked the next day. In Q1 2022, more policies were added with some loopholes created in the existing legislature. The wiki also attempted to secede from Fandom control to remove advertisements and notifications.
In October 2022, the first site-wide project called TeamCities started, which aimed to clean up the cities on the wiki by requiring that all settlements disclose their population or be removed for categorization purposes. A user named MatthewPlayThrought joined the wiki on October 14, 2022. On October 26, 2022, ChikoritaROBLOXHurricanes announced that his account had been disabled after graduation, and if he logged out, he would be locked out of the wiki. Finally, on November 24, 2022, he got locked out after his last edit on the article Little Bloxwomen. Then, in January 2023, another project would be created named Spoken Robloxiapedia, which would allow for read-aloud articles.
On January 17, 2025, raids from an online group of individuals, simply named "ISIS" (named after the terrorist organization in real life), immediately commenced an intrusive raid on Robloxiapedia property. The subsequent infiltration would later be known as the greatest raid in Robloxiapedia's recorded history. The infiltration started on January 12, 2025, when articles belonging to Islamic organizations were edited by the raiders to make them seem friendly. Little did the contributors know that the raiders would undergo their signature change of heart and would start the raid five days later. Articles involved in the raid were vandalized by replacing the entire page with one of their propaganda messages. It is estimated that at least 1,000 edits were made on Robloxiapedia that were vandalistic in nature during the raid, effectively preventing staff and users from normally contributing to the encyclopedia and instead delegating their efforts towards preserving Robloxiapedia's non-vandalistic state. There was a brief cease-fire period in which a peace treaty was sent, but unfortunately, the peace treaty was later broken and the raid continued.
Eventually, when it became too difficult to manage, SOAP administrators from FANDOM arrived to stop the vandals from damaging the encyclopedia any further.
On January 31, 2025, the staff of the Shoot and Eat Noobs Wiki, another encyclopedia which is not affiliated with Robloxiapedia, began a raid. They made significantly damaging edits in order to grab attention from Robloxiapedia users, staff, and viewers. A day later, LordTeneBrous2, a SOAP member who was helping in protecting the wiki, reported that the raiders were using an Virtual Private Network (VPN). This allowed them to circumvent poison bans simply by changing their IP address and explains why the raid lasted longer than most raids. The next day, on February 1, 2025, the leading raider from Shoot and Eat Noobs Wiki was globally banned. As a result, the Shoot and Eats Noob Wiki is left without an bureaucrat. Due to the two raids, the Robloxiapedia bureaucrat had left the encyclopedia, returning occasionally to post.
The Robloxiapedia bureaucrat then left the encyclopedia from March to May 2025, presumably due to schoolwork and tests. On May 16, 2025, the Robloxiapedia bureaucrat returned.
Guidelines
Prior to the creation of the rules, Robloxiapedia had no guidelines, meaning it was like complete anarchy beforehand. Except it was more of a state of nature, with Robloxiapedians in good faith editing together. However, the state of nature became perturbed from May 21–23, 2021, when Robloxiapedia's first "enemy" joined the wiki. On May 29, 2021, Chikorita felt pressured to create guidelines to avoid repeating the scenario. Thus, on June 17, 2021, Roblox cities Wiki:Wiki Rules was created, and the administrator relied on the default FANDOM rules because they felt like they were globally recognized. Over time, as more loopholes were discovered in the primordial legislation, Chikorita updated the rules to reflect this. He also repealed some rules that he felt were "restrictive" or used temporary rules as a "corrective."
Robloxiapedia users, like all other FANDOM wikis, can be punished with warnings, blocks, or bans (the latter of which is known as an indefinite block) for crimes committed on one or more articles. A list of all the crimes on the website and articles that a user can commit is listed here as (this is not exhaustive):
- Inserting false information
- Removing content from pages
- Spamming links to external sites
- Inserting nonsense/gibberish into pages
- Intimidating behavior/harassment
- Abusing multiple accounts
- Unacceptable username
In compliance with COPPA, all Robloxiapedia staff, if they find any evidence of any underage user in FANDOM (particularly users who are under 13), will block the user until they turn the exact age of thirteen. However, if they did not disclose their birthday (without the year), they will be assumed to have turned that age and will be blocked for an integer number of years. However, the block is rarely local and is unnecessary because Fandom can simply globally ban the account, preventing the user from contributing to FANDOM at all.
Robloxiapedia has also built on its existing rules in response to loopholes, making the entire wiki seem like a staff and user game. One rule simply postulates that "fake" is not one of Robloxiapedia's preferred adjectives, and users should use fiction or fanon. Another states that vandalism will be dealt with depending on how severe it is. Another ironic rule is that there is no false information in Robloxiapedia. This rule is based on staff opinion, and as such, staff may fight over whether the information is true or false. One thing is clear: the bureaucracy does not alter blocks given to spreaders of false information. Recently, page ownership had become a concern in Robloxiapedia as users started to revert edits, even those that were made in good faith, and threatened users with experience bans or shouting not to edit their page.
The bureaucrat states that all pages in Robloxiapedia, except where otherwise stated, are owned by everyone. The bureaucrat recently prohibited Robloxiapedians from pretending to own pages when their page does not explicitly state that they do.
On February 3, 2023, Robloxiapedia introduced a new policy to enforce the insertion of off-topic content in articles. Called the Topic Clause, it states that all articles in Robloxiapedia must be about something in Roblox or an off-topic article written in a Robloxian universe POV.
On March 10, 2023, Robloxiapedia bureaucrat required that all page "owners" disclose the fact they own the page on the page itself. Upon disclosure, users are allowed to remove contributions that are not their own. If left undisclosed, users should allow contributions to be incorporated into their writing.
On the same day, Robloxiapedia bureaucrat introduced a new policy after a new user started to spam Robloxiapedia with edits. Called the Spam Clause, Robloxiapedia staff will warn a Robloxiapedia user in their talk page in Robloxiapedia if a user has made 10 or more edits targeting different articles in 5 minutes. During this time, the contributor will be banned from editing the Robloxiapedian mainspace, but will be allowed to edit their Robloxiapedian talk page. Users are expected to reply upon receiving the talk page message with their motive of spamming. If the motive of spamming is considered a valid motive (such as adding non-vandalistic categories), the Robloxiapedia user will be unblocked. Note that the motive of leveraging the leaderboard (such as wanting badges and points) is considered an invalid motive and will result in an indefinite ban as "Robloxiapedia is not a game". If the edits are found to be vandalistic, vandal action would be taken. (Do note that the Robloxiapedian staff have the right to contact FANDOM to disable the gamification system anytime and the edit/post counter(s) may be disabled at times if we suspect users saying they are better due to higher edit count or point count). Robloxiapedia staff are exempt from the Spam Clause.
A new policy was created after the Robloxiapedia bureaucrat was treated as a mere user according to one mini moderator.
Another policy was created after the Robloxiapedia bureaucrat noticed that an article had been created that discusses the same subject (of which it is protected).
Around the late months of 2024, Chikorita and certain staff members noticed that certain topics on the encyclopedia were trying to turn the encyclopedia into a encyclopedia of a specific subject, namely furries. Due to this, a new policy was created to combat this situation. Andro Tan, who was assumed to be the first user to write first ever furry related article by creating the Furry Headquarters article, created an encyclopedia where users can write articles about furries. However, the policy was met with controversy and disagreements, so the policy was later repealed. Unfortunately, this meant the encyclopedia Andro Tan made is now useless.
Punishments
The Robloxiapedia bureaucrat used to give out colored warnings as punishments. This was inspired by a punishment ladder he saw on a website, with seven rungs, but was discontinued due to the bureaucrat preferring to use talk page messages (which have since been turned into message wall messages, despite having fewer customizability). However, the bureaucrat still uses the punishment ladder. One of the many criticisms in Robloxiapedia is that joining the Robloxiapedia Discord would reduce the ladder significantly, but there are harsher punishments as users are timed out on the Discord and blocked on the wiki (There is also no option for custom time-out time).
Here are the ladders used:
- Non-Discord User: Warning, Second Warning, 2 hours, 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year and indefinite as Warnings, Blocks or Bans
- Discord User: Warning, Second Warning, 1 day, 1 week, and Indefinite.
Robloxiapedia staff will initially assume that the user will not create alternative accounts to circumvent their ban, but if a user does circumvent their ban by creating a new account under a different username and if Robloxiapedia staff finds out, it is highly likely for the user to get banned from the account without prior warning or blocking. It is also possible to ban the IP address, which prevents the user from creating any more accounts in their IP address unless they somehow find a way to bypass it (note: Robloxiapedia staff will only collect user IP addresses for banning purposes. We respect the privacy of Robloxiapedia users and do not endorse threats involving IP address sabotage), as well as ban their IP address and any IP addresses they try to log in from up to one day. Private information (such as face reveals -- even posting someone's face, regardless of whether it is theirs) is not permitted in Discussions, and the user will be banned from Robloxiapedia for three days (or one day if they are in the Discord), unless they disclose that it is not their face.
Sometimes, Robloxiapedia staff have fun with their blocks (i.e. the 5o-o-o5 ban until the year 10,000 ), but this is to be done sparingly, as too much of it results in the wiki being criticized for having unprofessional staff.
As of February 2023, Robloxiapedia bureaucrat ChikoritaTheRobloxian has started an experimental technique that lets people bypass the punishment ladder by having a say in how punishment should be administered. This will be administered whenever the Robloxiapedia bureaucrat feels like going to the punishment ladder might be too strict.
Currently, the ladder is not followed at all, and ChikoritaTheRobloxian now decides the punishment on his own.
