Robloxiapedia's User Government will begin operating on May 1, 2024. Please read the following.

How your bill becomes law

Step 0: You write a bill, proposing a new regulation or a regulation modification to the Robloxiapedia community.

Step 1: The Robloxiapedia users (your vote will not count) will vote on the bill. The due date on the legislation is one week since the bill was created. They are not allowed to edit the bill, or their edit will be rolled back. If the bill is edited by a non-staff, voting will be paused until the bill is restored back to the original condition. If any votes are deleted by Robloxiapedia users or if any Robloxiapedia user votes more than once, voting will be similarly paused! Blocks and bans on the encyclopedia are given to repeat offenders, so do not do this!

Step 2: Staff have the right to edit the bill if the bill proves to be controversial if enacted or delete it altogether if there is no way to decrease the controversy of the bill. Each staff edit resets the timer back to one week if the change is BREAKING (i.e. beyond grammar fixes and spelling fixes or changes the nature of the bill).

Step 3: If any bill is deleted by staff, it is considered to be defeated.

Step 4: After user voting has concluded, the bill page will be protected to administration only to prevent any more user votes from being received.

How Bill Status is determined

Let be any real number (mathematically speaking, ) that is greater than or equal to 0.5 but less than or equal to 1 (mathematically speaking, ). This number, , is known as the majority factor and varies across the type of bill (staff will determine an appropriate majority factor, but if no staff show an interest about changing the majority factor, x will be taken to be 0.5 [], i.e. classic majority).

Similarly, let be a real number, just like , except that it can be greater than or equal to 0 but less than or equal to 1. (mathematically speaking, and ). Then depending on the value for p, a bill would enter one of the five possible statuses outlined below:

Possible Statuses

: The bill is defeated and deleted by staff.

: The bill is passed, becomes Robloxiapedia rule!

: The bill falls under Robloxiapedia bureaucrat approval.

NO VALID VOTES: See Above

Casting your user vote.

To cast your vote, go to the bill webpage (note that all bill webpages must be prefixed with User Government/ to make searching easier) and use a predefined vote: begin your edit with one of the predefined words: OPPOSE, SUPPORT, OR NEUTRAL (which must be bolded). You are required to explain why you choose that way for your vote to be considered valid. Please note that all reasons will be monitored by Robloxiapedia staff, and we receive the right to invalidate any vote, even if reason is provided, if the reason breaks one or more of our established encyclopedia regulations or if the vote is from a suspected alternative account (or alt).

Predefined Votes

  • OPPOSE
  • SUPPORT
  • NEUTRAL

POWER USERS ONLY: How to calculate and

Let be an individual vote. Then is defined as a piecewise function as follows:

  • if the vote is an OPPOSE vote.
  • if the vote is a NEUTRAL vote.
  • if the vote is a SUPPORT vote.

Define to be as follows: , where is a non-negative integer that is defined to be the number of votes cast over a 1-week period. Then we can define p to be related to P by the following relation: .

To calculate , we define z to be the solution to the following transcendental equation: . For those unable to solve the transcendental equation using any numerical technology, the following approximations can be used or [easier to remember]. Statistically speaking, this is the z-score for a 95% confidence interval. We define to be the following quantity: . Finally, we define to be the following quantity: .
