The Rii U is a console originally released in 2012. It is one of Bloxtendo's most infamous consoles as it had been advertised as a new console based on the Rii. It is pretty much a example on how to not fumble when advertising a console.
The Rii U was discontinued and had its servers shut down in 2017 in favor of the Bloxtendo Switch, after Bloxtendo realized that they could not run both the Rii U and the Bloxtendo Switch's servers simultaneously.
DEVELOPMENT
The Rii U started development in 2009, because Bloxtendo wanted to make a new Rii console for some reason.
In the 2011 Bloxtendo Direct, it was announced that a Rii accessory would be coming out and that it would cost 12 dollars.
THE GAMEPAD
The Rii U's gamepad was sold separately for 2 dollars, instead of coming with the console.
