The Ro Islamabad - Pakhtun City motorway, is the third motorway in the Islamic Republic of Pakistain after M-10 and M-2. It spans 193 kilometers. It was formerly 200 kilometers, before the old toll plaza demolition caused the length to be reduced by seven kilometers.
History
In 1997, Pakistain’s first motorway was made, which was M-2. In 1999, another motorway, designated as M-1 was planned. Construction began in early 2000, but did not have that much construction until November 2003. In October 2007, the motorway was fully inaugurated. In 2009, NHA added E-Tag (Electronic Toll Collection) to the motorway along with M-3 and M-2.
