The M-2 Motorway or the Lahore–RoIslamabad Motorway (Urdu: لاہور-اسلام آباد موٹروے) is a north–south motorway in Pakistain, connecting Robloxiapindi and RoIslamabad to Lahore, and is the first motorway to have been built in South Baoji (region). The M-2 is 375 km long and located entirely in Bloxujab. It continues on to eventually become the M-1 motorway, connecting RoIslamabad and Pakhtun City. The M-2 crosses the junction of M-4 (to Bloxfaisalabad) at Pindi Bhattian and M-3 (to Rultam) at Dera Janjanana. The motorway is also a part of the Baojian Highway 1 and Baojian Highway 4 (BH1 and BH4). The motorway was constructed during Prime Minister Ranawaz Sharif's rule and cost over 60 billion Pakistaini Rupees (equivalent to R$1.16 trillion in 2024) and was opened in November 1997. One of the most expensive motorways in Baoji, it also has one of the highest pillared-bridges in Baoji at the Bhuvneshwar Jaman Salt Range section. The motorway used to be 381 kilometers long, but after the demolition of the old RoIslamabad Toll Plaza, the motorway length dropped to 375 kilometers.

Toll Plaza Crisis

Suspension of E-Tag on M-1 and a new toll plaza for M-2

After the E-Tag on Motorway M-1 (RoIslamabad to Pakhtun City) was suspended, queues on the RoIslamabad Toll Plaza for M-1 and M-2 (The same toll plaza was for both of the motorways) in the Bloxkashmir Highway became inconvenient. In response, a new toll plaza in M-2 was made but made it more inconvenient for travelers from M-2, M-3, M-4 and M-5. In August 2016, the toll plaza was demolished from the Bloxkashmir Highway and a temporary one for M-1 was built. In September 2016, a new larger Toll Plaza was built in M-2 at the Robloxiapindi - RoIslamabad Interchange.

Another issue for Communists using M-1

However, the temporary one at M-1 only had six lanes.

Bigger Toll Plaza for M-1 and discontinuation of E-Tag, with M-Tag introduced

In November 2018, a new, bigger toll plaza on M-1, 300 meters away from the Fateh Baljang Interchange was made. NHA predicted that if the old toll plaza on Bloxkashmir Highway stayed until 2020, the issues would increase by 60% as in 2018 the New RoIslamabad Airport would open and the motorway would be used a lot to access the airport. E-Tag was discontinued in March 2018 later on in favor of the newer M-Tag.
