Kayla begins to feel fearful as she walks up the stairs to sit with Read, but she notices this and comforts her. When asked if she had any anxiety, she explains that after being targeted by a gang that had been bothering her since she started high school and only became more aggressive over time, as well as questioning her usual cheerful personality, she became afraid of talking to people and, in order to fit in with the others, decided to focus on becoming one of them. Kayla then credits Kyle, Angel, and Alexander with helping her become more social with everyone, including those she was afraid to talk to. Read notices this, and in a flashback, she recalls being the target of various bullies, including one incident in which she was punched in the stomach so hard that she vomited in the middle of the hallway, which exacerbated her anxiety and caused her to avoid talking to anyone at all. She cried silently at home, and it wasn't until one of them attempted to stab her with a knife that she told the school about it. In the present, Read teaches her a valuable life lesson about being yourself, while trying not to cry over her memories. Kayla becomes more joyful and happy as Read notices what has happened to her, and she gives Read a hug before leaving. The group then split up to return home, with Kayla feeling more enthusiastic about going on an adventure than ever before. Back on stage, Read wishes Kayla would become a legendary explorer like her.

In a flashback, explorers Kai and Aaron discovered the underground river, which they then documented and allowed to become a tourist attraction. In the present, the boat speeds down into the caves, with everyone happily screaming before safely landing. Carmelo then guides the boat towards the main river. When the group arrives at the site, they and the other visitors disembark and walk around the caves. Kayla takes a photo with the group, and a curious Angel is taken aback by the color. There, she meets a young girl named Katherine, who enjoys rivers and wishes to explore the ocean like her. Angel smiles and tells her that her dream will come true one day. Meanwhile, Kyle and Alexander explore the remainder of the caves, which contain diamonds. They are upset when Carmelo tells them not to touch it. An hour later, the boat leaves the caves and returns outside. Kayla and the group then return to the hotel.

Angel and Alexander go outside for breakfast, while Kyle chats with a still-sleeping Kayla, who is looking forward to their adventure. She then shows him the flag she created, which she refers to as the "Flag of Hope," and Kyle smiles. An hour later, the group departs from their hotel. Walking back to the town's exit, Kayla encounters Morgan, who recognizes the group's destination and wishes them well. Just before leaving, a group of people yells Kayla's name, which confuses her until she realizes it's everyone she's befriended, except for Olivia and Rebecca. A tearful Kayla thanks the other, and the group fistbumps each other, with each of them having a goal: Kayla to become the greatest explorer; Kyle to become the strongest person in the world; Angel to explore the deepest of the ocean; and Alexander to become the "face of the world."
