The Line A, (tentative name until 2023 Red Line) is a rapid transit line on the Robloxity Metro. It will open on June 4, 2025, and currently runs from South Square to Two Hills/East Robloxity.

History

In the original Robloxity Metro plans dating from the 1950s, the current route was shown among four others. These were superseded by the S-Bahn style Robloxity Area Rapid Transit system. But, in 2009, the RTC introduced a revival of a metro, which would make the expansions of The Plaza subway obsolete, and would also reduce traffic congestion by having more frequent stops and faster speeds (due to the lack of grade crossings, which the RART system does have outside of the urban core, although infrequently). It remained mostly a plan until 2010 when an environmental study was contracted out, but in 2012 the study was “indefinitely suspended” and the funds were deferred, with the city claiming the existing rail system would be sufficient until at least 2020. In 2018, the project was revived and this time, six corridors were identified, to replace existing branches on the commuter rail (such as the future airport branch which has been shut down past Bloxy Grove to be converted for the future B line, for now, a articulated bus shuttle operates in place of the train, until at least 2026). The plans were delayed due to Covid, and were resumed in 2021, but the system was narrowed down to only five lines. Pinewood Builders begun boring a tunnel in the east side of the city in 2023, but there were several delays including the discovery of artifacts at several points.
