Kortia, also known as Kortia Town, is a city located at North Bloxifornia and is the capital of Sea County. With a population of 124,940 as of the 2024 Census, it is the largest and most populous city in the county and is one of the biggest cities in the region.
The city is widely recognized for trade, fishing and tourism. Through the years, the city has also improved in education and technology, with growing industries and a satellite campus of University of North Bloxifornia which has numerous students. The city is also known for its scenery, beaches, historical landmarks, agriculture, and different tourist attractions.
History
Fishing Village and Early Years (1840–1870)
Kortia was originally established in the early 1840s as a small fishing village around the northwestern coast of larger Sea County by multiple settlers. The location of the village was quite good containing great resources across the coast line, hence Robloxians made it an important trading post for lumber, seafood, and agricultural goods. During the mid 19th century, the village gradually grew as more settlers from surrounding areas, including Funville and villages from Janet County decided to move in.
Sea County and Funville County split up in 1870 causing some change in Kortia. At that time, Kortia was already a well populated town which was quite developed compared to other towns and villages in the area, so it eventually became the capital of Sea County. The city got high benefits from its location and industries started being built slowly. Around the late 1800s, education improved quite quickly as more schools were made. There were also many proper schools at the rural country areas.
Industrial Rise (1871-1920)
Kortia had a huge growth during the late 19th and early 20th centuries like surrounding areas. Industries increased in other areas, just like Kortia. There were more constructions of railways and roads for easier transportation, and were connected to other cities and towns. Industries such as, fishing and lumber increased and Kortia was a major city of the county.
The city's port, one of the largest in the region, also was crucial in the city’s development. The Kortia Shipping, was established in 1885, and became a major company and helped in trade for the city. During this time, there was also high migration of workers from other areas, which increased the population significantly.
The Great Depression and Development (1921–1980)
Due to the Great Depression in the 1930s, the growth of Kortia significantly slowed down and many industries also financially struggled. However, several projects on improvements to the port and the infrastructure, helped the city to manage the struggles. Roblox War II also brought some problems to Kortia.
During the after war years, Kortia started to expand and rise along with the state, with suburban neighborhoods connecting and developing. By the 1960s, the city contained many tourist attractions, historical landmarks and etc. Industries, also, started to expand and rise quickly.
Recent Developments (1981–Present)
During the recent decades, Kortia had urbanized a lot and had seen a large value of development. The city improved its economy and technology. Kortia University was established in 1985, and has had many students enrolling in it.
