The Korblox Campaign for Robloxia, also known as the 8th Koro - Robloxian Conflict or the Forst Disagreement was a campaign led by the Emperor of the Korblox Empire, OstrichSized. After Redcliff troops performed an unwarranted attack on a Korblox squadron, the Korblox Empire declared war on the Kingdom of Redcliff and later the Knights of the Splintered Skies, which ended in a decisive loss for the Korblox Empire at the battle of Redcliff Fortress.

Background

  • The Korblox Empire was a state divided into 13 tribes. The Korblox troops numbered approximately 3,000. At the same time, the Redcliff Kingdom was a powerful state that had an army of 15,000 knights, and also had alliances with the Knights of the Splintered Sky, the Wizards of the Astral Isles and a temporary agreement of neutrality with the Overseers. Redcliff's allied army consisted of 10,000 men during this conflict.

Battle for the Frozen Tundra

After rumours spread about a proposed alliance between the Redcliff Faction and the Korblox Empire, a group of patriotic Redcliff troops performed a secret raid on the Korblox Empire's territory. Upon encountering Korblox forces, they brutally attacked the Korblox, whom were caught off guard at that moment. This broke the previous peace treaty between the two clans. With heavy losses, the Redcliff forces retreated, however upon discovering this attack, the Korblox Empire declared total war on the Redcliff faction.

The Korblox raids on Robloxia

Immediately after the raid on the frozen tundra, the Korblox army raided a city occupied by Redcliff. The raid on the city was highly successful, and Korblox's forces pillaged the city. Notoriously, they stole much of the intellectual and philosophical texts stored in the city. Many historians point to this as a factor in the eventual downfall of the Redcliff Faction. The Korblox's brutal and barbarian fighting techniques lent them the upper hand, as Redcliff were unable to counter such an unpredictable combat style. Later, the Korblox army attacked three more villages from 1325 to 1326. Prior to the war, the Korblox army sent scouts to observe the area. As such, the Korblox were aware of many of the plans of Redcliff's army before the Korblox Army even pillaged the city. Redcliff retaliated by attacking the Korblox stronghold with cannons, which ended up killing the Deathspeaker of the Dreadnought tribe, Ezetra. The Knights of the Splintered Skies helped the Redcliff forces. However, the Korblox, aware of the attack, were prepared. Korblox managed to keep the Redcliff knights outside of the stronghold and it's surrounding town, and even managed to make the Knights of the Splintered Skies surrender. The two factions signed a peace treaty. Fun fact - this peace treaty is the second oldest treaty in Roblox history that is still active to this day.

Battle for Fort Forst

The Redcliff army retreated to their nearby fort. This was due to the harsh conditions of the Korblox native tundra. Korblox, with a significant advantage placed on them thanks to their adaptation to the environment attacked the fort with an entire small army, led by the Emperor himself. Although a brutal battle took place, the Korblox Army narrowly won. This was due to the feigned retreat - Redcliff soldiers would follow supposedly 'retreating' Korblox soldiers, only to be led into a trap by Korblox sorcerers. The Korblox soldiers would then turn and massacre the Redcliff knights. This technique quickly broke down the Redcliff defense line, and with the close quarters of the fort providing an advantage for them, the Korblox seized the fort and renamed it to Fort Forst.

Battle of Redcliff Fortress

The Redcliff fortress was surrounded by a large lake, and access to the fortress was only possible through a bridge. But Redcliff's knights destroyed the bridge, and Korblox's army could only enter the fortress through the lake, which was very deep. Additionally, Redcliff archers would easily take out any soldiers that were sailing on slow sailboats. The powerful, motivated, and most importantly, massive army of the Korblox Empire, reached its dream - the Redcliff Fortress. However most of the Redcliff army was concentrated here. There were so many of them that some Korblox generals advised their emperor OstrichSized to retreat, but he believed that the battle could be won. Before the battle, he surveyed the entire army, and gave a reasoned speech that motivated the Korblox, and they, brave and brutal, went into battle as fearless as can be. Redcliff hosted an army comprising of the Knights of Redcliff and the remaining soldiers who continued to fight after the peace treaty was signed by the Knights of the Splintered Sky. The allied forces were determined to defeat Korblox and bring their brutal empire down. The entire Korblox army concentrated and attacked the fortress. According to the tactics of the Korblox Emperor, the Korblox army was to go forward with the Emperor, and the rest of the troops would bypass the fortress and surround it. The Korblox army of 4,000 Robloxians went on the assault, and the remaining 1,000 went around. But the army that bypassed the fortress was defeated, since Sorkus had already predicted the tactics of Emperor Korblox. A dangerous artillery bombardment for Korblox began, which completely destroyed the cavalry of the Korblox army, and it split up due to a mass panic between the soldiers. A small detachment from Korblox was surrounded, because after defeating the outflanking troops of Korblox, the allies decided to encircle. The Korblox detachment was surrounded and drowned in the lake. Later, the Korbloxes lost their entire army during the battle, which is why they had to retreat, destroying part of the Redcliff fortress with the last of their sorcerors and ice bombs. For OstrichSized, this came as a surprise, since he was already considered a great commander who led his army to conquer much of North Robloxia, but his confidence became arrogance. He should have known that making 4,000 men travel through a lake to reach a fortress that had higher ground would be a terrible and fatal mistake, and he disgraced himself along with his army, which he believed was invincible before the battle. After the battle, his army totally fell apart, sad and unmotivated. Infamously, hundreds of Korblox soldiers either defected or straight up deserted the empire. An example is Johnathon Kazdem, who is a Bloxburg-based lawyer. He is a direct descendant of one of these deserters. OstrichSized tried to motivate the Korblox, but to no avail. However, OstrichSized did not lose his chance, and still counted on his victory in the general battle. This battle delayed the further expansion of the Korblox Empire, and its army as well. It also caused widespread political instability in the Korbloxian courts. However, Strausmere never gave up and mustered all the troops to attempt another defeat of the Robloxia army in a pitched battle.

Results and consequences of the war

A lot of people suffered from this campaign. Redcliff's army suffered losses of approximately 3,000 knights. The Korblox Empire was able to conquer many territories. Fort Forst was captured. 3 villages of Robloxia and many cities were burned. Korblox's army suffered approximately 2,300 casualties, who were later resurrected by sorcerors. Civilian casualties amount to no more than 5,000 people, most of which occured during the allied attack on the Korblox fortress. The campaign ended in failure at the decisive Battle of Redcliff Fortress, with almost the entire Korblox army destroyed. The Rebel Knights of Splintered Sky suffered pretty much all of their casualties. After the battle for Redcliff Fortress, Korblox's army ended the campaign in disgrace, and returned to the icy tundra in order to rebuild the army and take revenge on Redcliff in a future attack.
