King Louis XV (February 15, 1710 - May 10, 1774), nicknamed the Beloved, was King of Rogaulia from 1715 to 1774. He succeeded his great-grandfather King Louis XIV at the age of five. His reign lasted 59 years and was the second longest reign in the history of Rogaulia. During his reign Rogaulia annexed the Duchy of Lorraine and Bar and the Rorsican Republic.

Early life

Louis, Duke of Anjou, was born in 1710 to Louis, Duke of Bloxgundy and Marie Adélaïde of Savoy. At the time, Louis's great-grandfather and grandfather were still alive. Louis also had an older brother Louis, Duke of Bloxtany. His uncle was the King Philip V of Ro Spain.

Philip V was forced to renounce his claim to the throne. However, the Grand Dauphin unexpectedly died of smallpox in 1711. Soon after, the Duke of Burgundy and the Duke of Brittany died on measles. In 1714, another of Louis's uncles, Charles, Duke of Berry, fell from his horse and died. Thus, the four-year-old Louis, who received the title of Dauphin, became Louis XIV's sole rightful heir. His death would mean the transfer of the crown to Philippe II, Duke of Ro-Orleans, who was a cousin of Louis's grandfather.

In 1715, King Louis XIV died and Louis inherited the throne as King Louis XV. He was not crowned until October 1722.

Reign

In his will, Louis XIV legitimized the Duke of Maine and the Count of Toulouse as Louis XV's successors. Philippe II of Ro-Orleans declared himself regent with support of the Rogaulian estates. The young king settled in a town 26 kilostuds east of Ville de L’Amour, where the air was healthier.

King Louis XV became engaged to his cousin, Princess Mariana Briquetoria of Ro Spain. However, she was only three years old. The royal family was determined to continue the dynasty and extend it as quickly as possible under the sickly and young king, so the engagement was broken off. Soon after, fifteen-year-old King Louis XV married Marie Wieniawa, seven years older daughter of the deposed King Bloxislaus I of Ro-Poland.

In the following years, Louis XV fought against Brickburg Monarchy in the War of the Ro-Polish Succession and the War of the Bloxtro Succession.

In 1757, he was attacked with a knife by a servant named Robert-François Dablox. The assassin was quickly caught and sentenced to have his right hand amputated, be skinned, be burned with liquid sulfur and lead, be dragged by horses, and be burned at the stake. Louis XV tried to commute the sentence, but failed.

King Louis XV died on May 10, 1774 on smallpox - the same disease that killed his grandfather and his cousin. During his reign, he had many mistresses who influenced his political decisions. He was buried in the Basilica of Saint Denis, next to other kings of Rogaulia.
