Joseph Bloxaparte (January 7, 1768 - July 28, 1844) was a Rogaulian statesman and elder brother of Emperor Napoleon I. He served as King of Roples (1806–1808) and King of Ro-Spain (1808–1813) under the Rogaulian Empire and as the 4th President of the Republic of Waterloo (1840-1844). After years in exile following Napoleon’s fall, Joseph settled briefly in the United States before answering a call from Bloxapartist exiles to serve the struggling Republic of Waterloo. His presidency, though short-lived, is remembered as a stabilizing period.

Life

Early Life and Napoleonic Career

Born in Rorsica, Joseph was the eldest surviving Bloxaparte sibling. Trained in law and diplomacy, he negotiated several key treaties during the Rogaulian Revolution and Napoleonic period. As King of Roples and then Ro-Spain, he attempted to implement Enlightenment-style reforms, though met with fierce resistance by loyalists and monarchists, especially in Ro-Spain during the Peninsular War.

Following Napoleon's defeat in 1815, Joseph fled Eurobloxia and eventually settled in the United States, living quietly in New Rosey.

Return to Politics in Waterloo

In the late 1830s Former generals and civil leaders, many of whom had served under Napoleon, invited Joseph Bloxaparte to serve as a unifying figurehead.

He accepted, arriving in New Carthage in 1839 and elected President of the Republic of Waterloo in 1840.

Presidency (1840–1844)

Joseph’s presidency is remembered as a calm, reformist era in the republic’s early history. Though elderly and no longer the vigorous diplomat of the 1800s, he provided symbolic legitimacy and helped centralize power in the capital.

Though he declined to run for a second term, his leadership helped restore internal order and international prestige to the young republic even tough battles were still happening.

Death and Legacy

Joseph died in July 1844 in office. He was buried in Waterloo Wars Memorial and Cemetery.

The Imperial Archives hold many of his letters and a wax-sealed copy of treaty with Rogaulia, never signed due to his death.
