John Lou Edems (June 16, 1900 – August 9, 1940, pronounced: Jon-Low-Edums), was a Robloxian man who was famous for assassinating Mr. Brookhaven. During his lifetime, he had previously committed a few crimes during his life, among them was exploding an entire street in Brookhaven in 1925, causing significant damage and injuring a total of 42 people and fatally killing four. He went to jail once and his life eventually ended in 1940 by a bomb in his house. He is still considered one of Robloxia’s most notorious assassins/spies.
Early Life
John Lou Edems was born on June 16th, 1900, in the small town of Murrieta. He also had a twin brother, named Mario Edems, however for an unknown reason, they didn’t have the same appearance at birth. His family was really poor and when John was only two years old, his father died of heart failure. John’s mother, Mary Fesh Edems was practically doing all the housework by herself, and her son was a slacker. She often berated John before beating him with a stick or pole since 1905. Mary then had to hire a nanny to take care of the housework.
Mary did not have enough money for John to go to school, so she homeschooled him instead. He was a bad learner and was never paying attention. His mother and nanny started to abuse John even more and one time in 1910 they sent John out to the woods for 2 days with no water and food. This traumatized John so much that he ran away from home a few days after he got sent into the woods and went to the city of Brookhaven. When John escaped to Brookhaven in 1910, he befriended some gangster children with no parents and joined Ponshant’s Lair, led by Jerry De’romeo Ponshant. They often terrorized the citizens of Brookhaven for money and successfully hiding from the authorities, and at nighttime they usually steal food from the markets. In 1913, John illegally traded a gun for R$142,000 from a criminal. He often practiced his sniping skills and spent time burning stuff with his gangster friends.
As early as the age of just 14, the Brookhaven Agency took notice of John and his gangster’s friends' actions and secretly hired John and his friends on March 5th as the youngest agents and officers in the Agency. John was assigned three missions from the Agency:
- assassinate Mr. Brookhaven
- start a revolution to overthrow the Brookhaven Communist Party
- assassinate all of Mr. Brookhaven's relatives and supporters.
Careers and crimes
John was put in the 5th AAA Squad (Assault and Assassination). They were given better guns and weapons; the Agency gave the 5th AAA Squad training sessions for two months until they were ready for their first mission. On May 12th, 1914, the 4th, 5th and 6th AAA squads organized a raid on the Brookhaven Town Hall, but they did not find Mr. Brookhaven. Instead, they found the servants and the Vice Mayor. The Agency asked them about Mr Brookhaven’s whereabouts, but the Vice Mayor and servants refused to answer and then they got shot. From 1914-1917, the Agency tried to track down Mr. Brookhaven until they received knowledge that he is in Bloxburg. Though they could not locate his house, John was sent to Bloxburg in 1917 to scout and search for Mr Brookhaven.
On October 2, 1924, the Agency finally located Mr Brookhaven’s house. However, just before the Agency arrived at his house, Mr Brookhaven and his family hid behind some bushes in his backyard. The 5th AAA Squad was dispatched to Mr Brookhaven’s house, and they also searched the backyard. However, his wife was killed by John when she refused to tell them where Mr Brookhaven is. Mr. Brookhaven moved around Bloxburg eight times, but the Agency could not track him down. Mr Brookhaven was then arrested for being framed. However, he escaped handcuffs and left the prison.
The following year (1925), there was some anti-Agency protests with a thousand Robloxians on a street in Brookhaven. John was dispatched to the street to disperse the crowd. He took 15 grenades and threw them at the crowd and some 42 Robloxians were heavily injured and/or killed.
First Attempt at Assassinating Mr. Brookhaven
The Agency received intelligence that Mr. Brookhaven and his family and a few supporters will be part of a motorcade heading to Brookhaven. At 12:30PM, John was positioned on top of a hill near the motorcade with a sniper. At 12:33PM, the cars carrying Mr Brookhaven, and his family and supporters drove by John at a speed of 24 MPH. John shot his sniper six times. The first two shots were aimed directly at Mr Brookhaven, but the bullets hit a tree instead. The next two shots were aimed at the car’s wheels: one hit the wheel and the other one ricocheted and hit a piece of the motorcade instead. The last two shots were fired at another car carrying Mr Brookhaven’s supporters. Two were killed in the car.
After the failed attempt to assassinate Mr. Brookhaven, the agency fired and discharged John from service and failed one of his goals, despite the fact he managed to kill supporters that fateful day. The Agency removed his badge and his leadership status of the 5th AAA Squad.
John spent around five years in his home with his supporters. He obviously could not work in Brookhaven or get another job there because he worked for The Agency, which resume readers would fire any Robloxian if they worked for them. Also, John blew up an entire street five years ago, which further convinced future employers that he could not be hired to do work. He then left Brookhaven, went from town to town, searching for Mr Brookhaven and eventually found him east of Bloxburg on February 3, 1931. He decided to spy on him. At that time, he was having a cocktail party in a bar. John disguised as a different person, and he asked him about his location and pretended to be his friend. For almost four years he had pretended to be Mr Brookhaven’s good friend because he wanted to gather more information about his daily routine and when and where he will reattempt his motorcade. John sent an appeal to the Agency to be reinstated and in the appeal, he put the exact details about Mr Brookhaven’s routine and how the Agency can assassinate him. He even included a date about the upcoming motorcade and told that on this date, Mr. Brookhaven will appear. The Agency read his appeal and granted him the appeal, and he was rehired on January 27, 1935.
Second Attempt at Assassinating Mr. Brookhaven
After he was reinstated in the Agency, he was preparing for October 5, 1937, the date when Mr Brookhaven is slated to appear in motorcade form. For his hard work preparing, he was rewarded with a special form of binoculars. Called Binoculrays, those allowed him to finish his preliminary plan that he was unable to complete due to a lack of resources on his hand. On October 5, 1937, a motorcade came to Bloxburg. In anticipation of the motorcade rounding the corner, he wore the item he was gifted with. He then took them off and drew out a M1903 Springfield at 17:34. He then shot 3 bullets which hit the car. One hit his wifes head as he rushed to aid him. Having the fear of being fired as it wasnt going that well, he luckily had 2-3 grenades by some sources that say the event which he launched at the inside of the car near his back which exploded. The car suddenly burst into flames as the car swerved left and right as the car finally flipped due to the explosion, seriously injuring the driver and every Robloxian within a 12-stud (3.36-meter) radius. As Mr. Brookhaven was at the explosion's epicenter, he was instantly killed and perished.
As soon he assassinated Mr. Brookhaven, John decided to wait ten minutes for the police and firefighters to arrive at the crater of the explosion before retreating to the forest, where he hid in a box-like structure here. However, police and firefighters found him at 18:05. The police took John to court, where the court determined that John is to be sentenced for three years in prison. John was sent to prison shortly after the dismissal of court.
On January 3rd, 1939, John decided to escape the prison. For 19 months he went into hiding in order for the police to lose track of him before returning to his home.
Death
On August 9, 1940, John went to his house in Bloxburg. Unbeknownst to him, word got out he was developing illegal things, and the SWAT Team tracked it down to his house basement. The SWAT team went in and tried to capture him as they burst in, and he tried to run away carrying his stuff. However, as soon as they got in, they made eye contact and then shot him. However, he dodged the bullet, but the bullet hit highly explosive gas tanks and his stuff fell and he tried to get it back. When he got everything, he was only 1-2 feet away from the explosion which exploded the whole basement, causing many team members to become injured. Two SWAT team members were killed. At the time of 4:01 AM, he was pronounced dead.
Legacy and Impact
Around sunrise came on the same day John was killed, word got out from the authorities and the leader of the SWAT teams that he was killed in an explosion. The news made the local headlines on the morning newspaper, and spread through the area, including Brookhaven, in the headline, the title read as: “Notorious Agency Agent, John Lou Edems, Killed In Explosion”. Many citizens of Bloxburg, Brookhaven, and other nearby towns celebrated John’s death as many referred to him as: “a gunner’s menace” and the evil actions he did during his time in the Agency.
Citizens of Brookhaven got together and started to boycott the Agency and its employees because of this, and in January 1941, the public stormed the Brookhaven Agency’s Office Building. They attacked the agents and employees there and destroyed a large amount of equipment and documents there, causing the Agency to shut down their operations in February 1941.
John’s younger brother, Mario, lived until the age of 41, and passed away on July 10, 1943, due to a fatal mid-air collision whilst fighting in the Battle of Sicilito during Roblox War II. Mario was more successful and behaved unlike John, and Mario would tell his personal stories and experiences about his brother to the public and journalists, gaining both fame and some notoriety for being a brother of one of Robloxia’s worst and well-known criminals. Mario had a son named Andrew Edems, by the time Andrew’s generation came around, the Eden’s family tree was starting to be forgotten and less talked about, the Edems still resides in Brookhaven and closer regions though, and some citizens would occasionally call them out because of how they’re related to John. Andrew then had a grandson named Jack Edems, who tragically died at the age of 16 due to being a victim of the Brookhaven School Massacre in 2013.
At this point, the Eden’s family tree has no more members left as Andrew’s generation and Jack’s has ended.
