Harry Bufords (born March 4, 1942) is a Robloxian politician currently serving as the mayor of Franklin, Highland County at Roregon. He has been serving as mayor since his first-term at 2016. At 84 years old, he is one of the oldest serving mayors in the state. Bufords has been a longtime figure in local politics, known for his support in improving economy and developing the community. His tenure as mayor has experienced many efforts on modernizing Franklin while also keeping nature in the town to enhance tourism.

Early Life and Education

Harry Bufords was born in Franklin, Highland County, on March 4, 1943. Growing up in a small rural community, he developed a deep appreciation for the town’s natural beauty and history. He attended Franklin High School, where he did well in history and public speaking, later enrolling at the University of Roregon. He graduated in 1965 with a degree in political science and returned to Franklin to work in local government.

Political Career

Bufords began his political career in the late 1970s, serving on the Franklin City Council. Over the years, he gained a reputation as a pragmatic leader who desired to balance economic growth with conservation efforts. In 1990, he was elected as Franklin’s city manager, where he oversaw infrastructure projects and budget reforms.

In 2016, Bufords ran for mayor on a platform of revitalizing Franklin’s economy, improving public services, and supporting small businesses. Winning with a strong majority, he has since been reelected twice, making him one of the longest-serving mayors in the town’s history. Under his leadership, Franklin has made improvements in roadways, increased tourism, and preserving Highland National Park.
