Wadena is a calm town east of Hazelton. It is the fifth largest town in the state of Keysota and sits in Wadena County. It is just to the north of Wadena State Park/Forest. It has only one gas station. It is located at the intersection of Wadena County Roads 11 and 54, though Keysota State Routes 2 and 13, Cherokee County Road 11, and Wadena County Road 83 pass near the city limitations.

  • It has a reputation of having a lot of close calls with tornadoes but the city remains largely untouched.
  • On September 19, 2029, a tornado finally slabbed Wadena, for the first time since the end of the 2010s.
