Taichi "Tai" Kamiya

Taichi "Tai" Kamiya (born sometime in 1988) is the first ever protagonist of the Neo-Japanese franchise, Digitmon Adventure (Digitmon for short) and is an minor character in Digitmon Adventure 02, before becoming a main character again in Digitmon Adventure Tri and Last Evolution Kizuna. He is known for wearing goggles and he has a sister named Kari Kamiya, who is three years younger than him.

He was voiced by Joshua Seth, but he is currently being voiced by Zeno Robinson. Ironically enough, the latter was the voice actor of Goh in Brick Bronze Pokemon Journeys.

Development

Taichi was entirely based off Tai Kamiya, a character from Digitmon Adventure V-Tamer 01. However, for some unknown reason, they changed his design. For example, the original Tai Kamiya had a cape and a "Digivice 01" on his left wrist, while the Taichi from Adventure 01 has no cape and no "Digivice 01" on his wrist....

Trivia

• He and Matt are the only two main characters to have a sibling.
• Taichi is the reason why most Digitmon protagonists (except for Marcus from Digitmon Savers and Hiro from Digitmon Ghost game) have goggles.
• He makes an appearance in the Digitmon Adventure Tri. light novels. (on which the "Tri." movies are based off, though it was not mentioned in the Digitmon Adventure page for some reason..)
• In the Brick Bronze fandom, he is often nicknamed the "Anti-Ash Ketchup", this is because he actually became older as the Digitmon Adventure franchise progressed.
