In Robloxian mythology, Giants (from Ancient Ro-Greek: gigas, cognate giga-) refer to any Robloxian of stature far greater in size than any normal Robloxian. These beings often have far greater strength and size than a normal Robloxian, although they are not often portrayed with superbloxian abilities. Giants should not be confused with Titans.
Analysis in Robloxian Culture
In most stories and tales, Giants are enlarged Robloxians hellbent on either the destruction of Robloxian civilisations or the desire to eat Robloxian flesh, or a combination of both. Roliterary analysts have suggested these tales to be indicative of a warning surrounding the frail and impermanent nature of Robloxian mortality.
While most tales portray these giants as villainous or monstrous, some tales portray them in less harsh light. For example, Rodynamocon, written by Hovenostle in Ancient Ro-Greece, portrays an isolated island as the home to a small tribe of giants, peacefully co-existing with the lands which they sow and the small Robloxian village on the other side of the island, and even assisting the characters in the story.
It is now widely believed that ancient cultures may have mistaken the fossils of ancient megafauna, such as dinosaurs, large ro-apes or even aquatic remains, and may have conflated these with being evidence of larger Robloxians existing at some point in time.
Some fringe ro-historians have offered different theories, however:
Theory 1: Devolution
This theory proposes that, in a similar vein to insular dwarfism, Robloxians were all, at some point in the existence of our species, far larger than we are today and that changes in the environment caused Robloxians to evolve to attain a smaller frame, possibly in order to reduce the amount of resources and fuel needed to keep the organism alive. As such, tales of giants may in fact be true accounts of isolated tribes of Robloxians, perhaps on areas like isolated islands or coastal locations, where they did not evolve into smaller forms and retained their enlarged status.
Theory 2: Extinction
Another new and popular theory, more simple than the previous, suggests that Giants did in fact exist alongside ancient Robloxians but were simply wiped out by the greater Robloxian population, whom had a greater advantage in both numbers, technological innovation and the use of superbloxian abilities. Eventually, Giants were wiped off the face of Roblox.
