The Eastern Front of the XNDUIW military arc is the parent verse of several other verses within the arc itself, and it involves hundreds of characters within the storyline itself. It is backed by several members of the XNDUIW community (excluding alternate accounts) to some degree, especially when it is one of the most active verses, with some parts of it taking place in Russia, and especially other parts of the Post-Soviet regions themselves. The verse includes other sub-verses that are included in the storyline, with the actual verse itself being entirely canon, with nearly no fanon equivalent within the arc itself.

Summary

The Russian theatre of the military arc within the XNDUIW community is a mil-sim (military roleplay) storyline, with some components of it taking place within the Russian Federation. This verse's primary characters are high-ranking military generals who are participating in two sides, one side being the more autocratic and authoritarian Russian government regime, that is loyal to Vladimir Putin, while the other side consists of NATO, and Western intelligence agencies, with Ukrainian-backed forces joining as a member of the side of the West in 2022 upon the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Only a few primary or secondary characters may be shown in this verse, as this single verse may involve thousands of individual characters. Despite the claim of god-modding, all characters involved in this verse are not invincible, as individuals can end up under these few following criteria.

  • Killed in action (KIA) - There is a chance that some characters will be killed or end up deceased in action during armed conflict, especially in the Eastern part of Ukraine after the "special military operation". As of this verse's creation, at least three characters were confirmed to have been killed in the line of duty within the community too.
  • Prisoner of war (POW) - Certain characters end up being captured, and end up as "prisoners of war", where they are incarcerated, or end up imprisoned or end up behind bars as well.
    • There are reports of Russian soldiers committing acts of torture and war crimes against POW's, especially the fact that these individuals are responsible for suspected crimes on the behalf of the Russian government.
    • Under the Geneva Convention, POW's should be treated as human beings, and not as slaves, considering that these acts are banned under international law provided by the United Nations as well.

Powers of the Verse

Characters who are fighting in the Eastern Front of the military arc for any faction must have tiers somewher ebetween 10-B to 9-A, with requirements applicable in skills such as Weapon Mastery and Martial Arts, though an attack potency of at least Athlete level is required, along with various expertise in military training itself, alongside prior combat experience. The verse also involves various fronts, which may require additional skills, as characters must be at least 18 years and older to participate in such conflicts themselves, with athletic skills being necessary to participate in actual armed conflict within the community.

Battle theaters

There are multiple battle theaters within the Eastern Front, which is commonly seen in the verse, with some based off of actual armed conflicts, especially when the verse can get really violent if not highly brutal within the story line itself, especially when rampant war crimes become apparent within the lore itself. What is especially surprising about the verse is the Eastern Front consisting of several hundred generals and public officials, hence why the verse is so large.

Ukraine

This story arc is one of the major battle theaters within the Eastern Front as a whole, especially after the "special military operation", which was triggered by Vladimir Putin which initiated the Russian invasion of Ukraine itself, not to mention the already pre-existing tensions between Russia and Ukraine itself, such as when the following verse gets apparent, as there are at least three known theaters which can be apparent when characters are involved within this verse itself. This theater is perhaps the largest, and most significant of all the fronts, which can relate to the following storyline here as provided here, especially when the armed conflict can be extremely bloody, with allegations of war crimes being carried out by the Russian military, with notable characters such as Nikolai Abulinov defecting from the Russian Armed Forces for better opportunities in the West. There could be at least dozens of characters who are involved in the Eastern Front of the military arc, with new OCs being released on other wikis before they pop up here as well.

Eastern theater (Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts)

The Eastern theater is where most of the fighting in a military sense appears in the Eastern Front, where the Russian military installed puppet leaders, in both the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts themselves. The main villains of this theater are primarily the Russian Armed Forces, though there may be a lot less information about Russian villains as most of them haven't been identified, and will only be revealed somewhat occasionally. The majority of Russian heroes within this verse consists of police and army personnel that have deserted from the Russian Armed Forces, or Russian citizens that are strongly opposed to the invasion of Ukraine, or anti-Putin Russian citizens already residing in Ukraine. This portion of the story line is still ongoing, especially with the irredentist and corrupting views of the Russian government under Vladimir Putin himself, who is the main antagonist of the Eastern Front within the Ukrainian territory itself. The conflict is extremely enormous, especially with the high amount of danger when participating in the front itself, as Russian war criminals have been seen ordering enemy soldiers to indiscriminately murder civilians and heroic soldiers themselves, with rampant propaganda and misinformation on the Internet.

The Russian government has met such heroic Russian individuals with harsh and heavy repression, with at least several Russian individuals who were fighting for Ukraine ending up dead. were taken prisoner, or went missing. As such, despite the immense activity within the battle theater itself, this is the most dangerous of all the campaigns respectively, considering that there is often rampant shelling and bombings, which have destroyed many forms of infrastructure within this portion of Ukraine itself. Asides from suspected Russian criminals working in this unit that are focusing on repressing it's people, certain enemy soldiers have entered via Belarus in order to invade from the north, which were quickly pushed back by the Ukrainians themselves. The area near the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts have faced great amounts of destruction and shelling from Russian bombs, including various threats of using nuclear weapons with arrest warrants being issued against several senior-ranking members of the Russian government respectively.

This combat theater is perhaps the most active of the conflict zones within Ukraine, especially during the brutality of the Russian government, who espoused irredentist views, and doubted Ukraine's right to exist, especially when war crimes were being committed within the country itself. This theatre concentrates in the direction of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, though the conflict can be impeded through delays of necessary weapons supplied by the West themselves within the community. The primary task is to liberate territories that are occupied by Russian separatists, along with several individuals being involved in such an armed conflict itself, with up to hundreds of characters respectively.

Southern theater (Crimea, 4 oblasts)

The southern theatre of the front in Ukraine involves four illegally annexed oblasts that were taken by the Russian Federation. The main front here is from the Dnieper campaign, especially when the battlefield is concentrated towards Crimea, and four other oblasts that are partially held by Russia itself. This theatre of conflict includes the Dnieper campaign, considering that the Russian Federation has already annexed the Crimean peninsula back in 2014, which was condemned by the International community. It is apparent that the storyline came purposely true, considering that this part of the verse was already well-known to be particularly violent, especially after the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam as a whole.

There are reports of Ukrainian partisan warfare in the area, which comes as no surprise whenever anti-Putin Russians are stationed, all affiliated with the Ukrainian government, alongside other people who would eventually have other important missions within the theatre of the conflict that had something to do with such partisans too. Here, the fighting is somewhat less frequent, considering that yet another attack could be carried out at any moment, as there are people who remain trapped in the conflict with complete disregard to human rights. This theatre also coincides with the near-total annihilation of the Russian Black Sea fleet that also oversaw the destruction and the subsequent sinking of the Moskva, which was totally destroyed with not much effort.

Russia

Attacks within Russia increased within the XNDUIW community many times over, especially several months after the onset of the full-scale Russian Invasion of Ukraine. These were carried out by either Ukrainian saboteurs, or Russian opposition figures, individuals that had already deserted from the Russian Armed Forces, and rebellious conscripts as well. This has been carried out by various individuals, especially when several other characters were involved in the battle as well, becoming a major part of the conflict. Russians who engaged in attacks against the Kremlin would often face brutal repression, though some of their activities were incredibly destructive, as Russian heroes (as described within the Heroes Fanon Wiki) engaged in all sorts of activities which often broke the law but they did illegal acts for the greater good.

Russian heroes within XNDUIW resorted to vandalism, such as graffiti, including spraying on anti-war slogans on the walls of government buildings within Moscow and in major cities within the Russian Federation including in Yekaterinburg and especially Saint Petersburg too. Some of those heroes also resorted to assassinations and even violent attacks against pro-Kremlin individuals, resorting to acts of heroic terrorism which resulted in the deaths of such individuals, including the murder of a Russian journalist, who was killed by a car bomb set up by members of the Freedom of Russia Legion within the XNDUIW community. Even though the acts made by Russian heroes who are in their home country were often illegal, it was approved under the orders of the Ukrainian government, as they went on to sabotage military equipment, against the antagonistic actions of the OMON and the Russian police. Lethal force was authorized by the Russian heroes themselves, as they carried out targeted attacks against pro-Kremlin officials who frequently engaged in corruption and political repressions respectively, which would become incredibly important to help Ukraine as a whole, but not all of these people were lucky. Some of those heroes risked 15 year prison sentences for their heroism, which were only cut short via prisoner exchanges made by the West, including the United States under the Biden administration as well.

Media and writings

The media presenting parts of this verse were available for people outside of the Russian Federation, which wasn't a surprise, but there were concerns about Internet censorship within countries which are allied with Putin. This extended to Iranian and North Korean officials which contradicted important tasks that NATO had done to Ukraine, but rampant censorship increased within Russia along with escalating democratic backsliding and a shift towards authoritarianism done under Putin sparked worrisome concerns within the XNDUIW community, especially including the Russian members of XNDUIW, including Anatoly Aparkov himself. This became apparent after allegations of electoral fraud popped up throughout the 2024 Russian presidential elections, which was met with widespread condemnation as the elections in Russia were likely met with rampant corruption as well.

Electoral irregularities

There were widespread reports of electoral fraud, all since Putin was elected into power in 2000. This became apparent, when Natalya Kopenskaya voted for a more sympathetic Russian leader in her local embassy in the United States, only for multiple fraudulent ballots which were written in favor of Putin to be stuffed into the same election box as she attempted to vote for an anti-war candidate during the 2024 Russian presidential elections. Corrupt Russian officials proceeded to stuff multiple ballots into various election stations within occupied Ukraine and within the Russian Federation as well, with Putin "winning" the election with 88% of the vote even though such ballots were either fraudulent or totally invalid. This was met with widespread protests in Moscow which were met with political repressions, as many Russian opposition figures went into voluntary exile after the elections within the Russian Federation.

This was when Navalny unexpectedly died behind bars, which only aggravated the pro-democracy movement within the XNDUIW community. As a response, Navalny's widow Yulia took over his work, as this was apparent whenever the rampant problems regarding the Russian elections became a concern. Many protesters demanded that these ballots be declared invalid, and demanded the resignation of Putin, which were ignored and were subsequently met with the same amount of political repressions done by the Russian authorities themselves too. Rampant corruption within the Russian Federation was fairly well-known, considering that this became a serious concern in all subsequent Russian elections as well, which were met with the same things described in this article too.

Mass media censorship

It's been alleged that Roskomnadzor engaged in media censorship, considering that the websites belonging to several heroic individuals, both within Russia and abroad were widely censored as they were made inaccessible within Russia. This prompted anti-war Russians to download VPNs, so they can get around internet censorship within the country, sparking concerns about freedom of the press as well. Notably, political corruption within the Russian Federation was rather rampant, considering that multiple websites owned by various opposition figures were blocked without reason. It became apparent as rampant censorship was virtually unacceptable, according to Anton Karymsky, who openly condemned the act as well, which has been reported. Many prominent opposition bloggers voiced their opposition and even hatred towards the censorship, only for the Russian government to register them as "foreign agents" against their will, which was deeply concerning for the international community anyhow. In addition, this became extremely concerning, because such websites were made pretty much inaccessible against the wishes of innocent civilians and journalists alike, which proved to be extremely dangerous for the people involved. This has happened since at least 2006, which only sought to exacerbate such situations even further, given that various websites were reportedly banned within the orders of Putin, extending to YouTube and even certain wiki pages as well. In addition, media freedom in Russia was deeply curtailed, which sparked severe consequences, as opposition figures were often silenced by any means possible, including murder.

There were reports of Russian journalists covering situations in active warzones who were reportedly beaten, sexually assaulted, and possibly killed via suspicious means, and several more attacks were made against editorial offices, which included several criminal prosecutions, and many other violations of Russian journalist rights as well. There were other journalists which were forcibly expelled from Russia, including foreign nationals as well with several of these individual's equipment being physically destroyed and vandalized as a consequence as well. Images of journalists being exposed to violent assaults and even murders became available on the media as suspected criminals reportedly done extremely vile things to such individuals on the context of organized crime. Several TV crews had their equipment rendered unusable or destroyed by these attacks, in an attempt to prevent alleged crimes within Russia from going public as well.

There was a law in 2017 which allowed Russian authorities to list foreign media as "foreign agents", which allowed the Russian government to force foreign media to brand their news provided to the Russians as the work of "foreign agents", while providing misleading information such as propaganda through it's state media. It started to be enforced in a massive scale in 202 and 2021, but some groups didn't engage in political activity, but were designated as "foreign agents" anyways without reason. This was met with widespread protests, considering that it was personally denounced by Mikhail Tants who had many of his works destroyed with some of his colleagues reportedly arrested by the Russian authorities without any trial, sparking concerns for the safety and well-being for such characters within the community, which were extremely concerning on the context with the organizations involved. As troubling as it might seem, the Russian government has made an effort to make access to internet severely restricted, especially relating to Roskomnadzor, which would spark some further anger and frustrations amongst the general community for sure in exact circumstances too.

Tactics

The tactics involved in the Eastern Front can vary, considering that this is a larger verse towards the XNDUIW Military Arc - Russia verse itself, considering that some of the actions that the characters do may often be violent, and often target major figures, which can put the characters in danger. This extended to sabotage and even the destruction of important supply lines simultaneously, sparking concerns about what would ever go on within the verse itself.

Direct action

Assaults and violence against public officials and prominent figures

There were assassination attempts against prominent Russian officials on both sides of the Eastern Front, most notably a car bombing attempt against various pro-Kremlin officials. Civilian journalists and minor characters within this verse have been seriously injured or even killed by actions done by saboteurs on both sides, considering that threats of violence were made against such individuals the past. Other reports noted that several prominent Russian businessmen were suddenly dropping dead without any reason, most notably several individuals who were extremely wealthy who died under suspicious circumstances as well. Other incidents mentioned, included the murder of Boris Nemtsov and the subsequent funeral involving him, along with the murder of Alexander Litvinenko through polonium which was sent by two suspected Russian spies as well to target them. This was apparently not a surprise, since a serious liability under their behalf is that Putin most likely ordered their assassinations, which was widely condemned by the international community.

Individuals involved in this verse have experienced threats and direct acts of violence, with reports of several individuals being sexually assaulted, physically beaten and even killed because of the things they had which often criticized Putin, most notably denouncing the ruling United Russia party for being a "party of crooks and thieves" which had already taken a majority of the Russian State Duma since 2007, sparking worrisome concerns about the rest of the Russian characters anyways. Other people who were suspected to be pro-Kremlin figures were direct targets for assassination by Ukrainian saboteurs which were aligned with Zelenskyy, which became fairly important to ensure a chance of Ukraine ascending to NATO, which was strongly condemned by Putin. Protesters, especially within Russia threw all sorts of things, ranging from Molotov cocktails to cans of dye and paint to each other and towards Kremlin officials and opposition figures in an attempt to identify them, with a notable incident in Poland as well.

It's been reported that suspected Russian kleptocrats had raped and molested various prominent women who were strongly opposed to Putin, sparking international condemnation across the international community as there were increasing reports of various female opposition figures being sexually assaulted by federal Russian police and military officials, including the members of OMON as well. In other incidents, victims had been reportedly detained and tortured inside Russian penal colonies without any trial for arbitrary reasons, including foreigners who were suddenly locked up within Russian penal colonies without reason as well.

Vandalism

There have been reports of Russian heroes (as described in the Heroes Fanon Wiki) within the XNDUIW community resorting to acts of vandalism, such as arson, and the deliberate torching of pro-Kremlin offices across the Western part of Russia. Vandals who were opposed to the Kremlin reportedly defaced and vandalized election signs, altered wiki content across several wiki-hosting services (including FANDOM as well), and sprayed graffiti and anti-war slogans in various government offices, considering that this was apparently destructive towards the environment within Russia as well. There also have been reports of heroes from the Eastern Front committing arson, and the intentional sabotage and destruction of railroads within the Russian Federation itself which primarily supplied enemy weaponry to fight in the Russian Invasion of Ukraine which resulted in countless trains derailing as a consequence. This was met with even more attacks by the Russian authorities, along with the heroes themselves who were already opposed to the Kremlin, as there was rampant destruction all across Moscow, as there were reports of vehicles being bombed out and destroyed as well.

In some cases, Russian heroes within XNDUIW have resorted to defacing and vandalizing the articles of multiple pro-Kremlin officials, most often those affiliated with the ruling United Russia party, which happened on not just FANDOM, but also on Wikipedia itself within the XNDUIW community. This sparked various issues, asides from the picketing and total annihilation of various forms of Russian equipment, which were not only destroyed, but also captured by Ukrainian forces and also anti-war Russians as well, with some of the captured equipment being put on display as far away as Berlin within Germany as well. Destroyed Russian equipment were also placed in museums across NATO countries, most prominently in Germany simultaneously within the XNDUIW community as such too.

Online action

Cybercrime has been common within the Eastern Front, most often from suspected cybercriminals within the Russian Federation itself, with hackers on both sides of the conflict engaging in some form of cyberwarfare against each other, resulting in thousands of dollars worth of lost productivity. The hacking and malicious software given to and from the two sides of the conflict (Characters who are able to hack computer systems with the intent of damaging or destroying software) and the incidence of cybercrime escalated in the Eastern Front after the onset of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. It's been reported that Ukrainian netizens had doxxed and repeatedly leaked the phone numbers of Russian spies and enemy personnel who were working for the FSB, as there were massive amounts of malware which shut down multiple websites between Russia and Ukraine as well. This caused servers to shut down, disabling internet access towards parts of the Russian Federation, which would become apparently problematic as a consequence of the apparent cybercrime that was rampant there as well.

Doxxing became rampant within the Eastern Front, with software engineers leaking the names, phone numbers and home addresses of various officials of both sides, with several individuals on Discord being reported for that kind of behavior with at least several thousand accounts being deleted with several more being permanently banned from using the messaging service entirely. Suspected Russian hackers had also targeted a few government agencies and supply networks across the United States and Canada as well, but were subsequently intercepted by NATO officials, including Internet sleuths respectively as well. The immense amount of cyberwarfare activity in this theatre of conflict caused disruptions to telephone and banking services, as funds from suspected Russian oligarchs being stolen by Ukrainian and NATO officials to subsequently give to the war-torn country of Ukraine to fund it's efforts against Putin entirely as well.
