The Early Election Act of 2026, also known as the For the Right to Early Elections in Robloxia Act (FREERA) and by its long name Authorizes Early Presidential Election of the United States of Robloxia in Response to Corporatism, is a federal act in the United States of Robloxia created to reinstate and further bolster the democracy of Robloxia following the Corporatist takeover of Robloxia's legislative, executive, and judicial branches by pushing forward the 2028 United States of Robloxia Presidential Election, originally scheduled to occur on November 7, 2028, to a yet unspecified date in 2026, as well as giving the right to change election dates for future presidential elections. Introduced in the Robloxia Congress on March 8, 2026, it passed with a 67% majority. Vetoed by the Supreme Court, it was voted on again by the Robloxia Congress on March 15, 2026, with a 60% majority. It was subsequently vetoed by the Supreme Court, causing the Robloxian Citizen Militia to be enraged and even threaten to declare thermonuclear war on the country itself, resulting the Robloxian government having to send the bill to the president despite being vetoed. The president, under pressure, did not take any action on it for ten days as contemplated the pros and cons of such a decision, causing the bill to become law without his signature.
History:
Pre-Introduction and Background:
Prior to November 5, 2025, there was no general consensus on how Robloxia should prepare and respond to political party takeovers, and when the Corporatist Party came to the reins on 2004 with the victory of David Baszucki, political party takeovers of any magnitude were suppressed, except for those involving the Corporatist Party itself. When Mason Scorpio Smith was inaugurated, he failed to consider the likelihood of a political party takeover, which eventually cost him his presidency when he was politically inactive for three months while dealing with divorce affairs with the then former First Lady of the United States of Robloxia. Many Robloxians at the time believed that the existing federal government under former United States of Robloxia president Mason Scorpio Smith had not reacted during the Corporatist takeover of the Robloxian government branches, which resulted in the Robloxian Congress and the Supreme Court of Robloxia having Corporatist unanimity while the president was Corporatist itself.
On November 5, 2025, The Corporatist Party unexpectedly took advantage of Smith's political inactivity, staging a high successful takeover and seizing power in all three government branches. The event caused massive destruction to democracy as the Robloxian Congress, the executive branch, and the Supreme Court of the United States of Robloxia fell into Corporatist unanimity. The country was left with widespread shock and grief by the scale of devastation, as no political party takeovers of this size had ever been recorded in the entire history of the Robloxian government since the introduction of the three-branched system. The incident quickly became known as the 2025 Corporatist Party Takeover and was widely reported across the nation, as well as sparking resistance in the form of the 2025 November Anti-Corporatist protests.
The resistance was of the form of public anger and frustration, and it grew over what was seen as an absence of response from the Robloxian government. Stories would be published of democracy's collapse. What is even worse is that the president, David Baszucki, refused to address the nation. Amidst his refusal, many citizens felt that the Robloxian federal government lacked the tools and authority to properly assist in large-scale political party takeovers, and it is highly likely such tools and authorities will never be developed while Baszucki would be in power.
However, despite the resistance, the Corporatist Party remained firm on their newly appointed 535 seats on November 30, 2025, and protests against corporatism died for a while until January 7, 2026, when a large series of Anti-Corporatist protests, riots, and demonstrations came in the wake of the full passage of the Age Checks for Communication Executive Order and the failure to de-escalate those protests, riots, and demonstrations due to the de-escalation protocol used by law enforcement not being able to be factored in to the executive order itself resulted in what military historians fearing that the Second Robloxian Revolutionary War could be possible in the near future.
Meanwhile, Robloxia did not have any protocol on what to do in the case of a political party takeover. The enormous scale of the political party takeover made it clear that democracy could easily collapse with such political party takeovers. The Progressive Party believed that new legislation was necessary to give the federal government greater authority during political party takeovers. Many proposals for a national political party takeover preparedness law were being drafted by the Progressive Party. One proposal that would be later known as the Early Election Act of 2026 would surprisingly gain support on Progressive Party members. This proposal would implement a way for Robloxia to respond to political party takeovers.
Introduction:
The act was introduced by John Puma when he was in prison on March 2, 2026. He wrote a prison epistle in the form of a letter, focusing on democratic supremacy, the nature of democracy, and how democracy brings joy despite difficult circumstances. He also drafted an act that would later be seen by chikorita152e, which would later edit the act in a conference committee, which would later be approved by John Puma himself before it was scheduled to be deployed in front of a live Robloxian Congress. Many arguments were presented in the letter, such as the fact stronger acts were needed to quickly help a damaged democracy.
Initial Reaction:
When the epistle (sans the act itself) was received by the Robloxian government, the epistle received strong opposition from all of the Robloxian government branches, as the Robloxian government branches were dominated by the Corporatist Party. However, it received strong support from non-Corporatist legislators, chief executives, and court justices in local courts, as they were mourning the loss of democracy and facing the difficult task of rebuilding democracy. Several non-Corporatists, in particular, traditionalists, raised concerns, however, about the act disrupting the tradition that a general Robloxian presidential election must occur every four years on the first Tuesday of November. Intense debate is largely to be anticipated following the initial reaction, and the date in which the intense debate is scheduled to start will be March 8, 2026, when the act will be read in front of the live Robloxian Congress.
Deliberation through the Robloxian government branches:
On March 8, 2026, the act has been read in front of the Robloxian House, immediately beginning intense debate among all 435 Corporatists in the room who initially started out opposing the act. After the act was deliberated, there was a waning consensus of opposition, now amounting to 17% of all Corporatists. In the end, 291 Corporatists voted to support the act, 74 Corporatists voted to oppose the act, and 70 Corporatists voted Present on the act. In the Robloxian Senate on March 9, 67 Corporatists voted to support the act, 17 Corporatists voted to oppose the act, and 16 Corporatists voted Present on the act. The act, having passed in both the Robloxian House and Senate, now proceeded to enter the Supreme Court of Robloxia, where it was defeated by a ruling of 10 court justices opposing (nine from the Robloxian Supreme Court and one from Central Robloxia which had been summoned), and four court justices (all of which from non-Corporatist Party states) supporting.
Reattempt:
On March 15, 2026, the bill was reintroduced to Congress. Among congressmen, 238 voted in favor, 158 against, and 39 abstained. This gave a 60% vote in favor in official results. The Supreme Court seemed to accept the bill by a 12-8 vote, but again Builderman brought his Corporatist Supreme Court, resulting in the bill being defeated by 12-17. chikorita152e said that a margin of at least 10 is needed for the dissenters to have no majority. Upon announcement of this, the Robloxian Citizen Militia was infuriated and swore to declare revolutionary war on Robloxia. As easily it was able to circumvent the constitutional right that no state should create militias, it also circumvented the right that no state should declare war on another state by immediately declaring war on the United States of Robloxia, the first time a revolutionary war has occurred in 251 years in the country. On March 17, 2026, with battles beginning to turn to citizen militia victories and the recent threat made by the Robloxian Citizen Militia to nuke the capital of Robloxia with two thermonuclear ballistic missiles, effectively capturing the entire country by the militia and resulting in a successful government overthrow, non-Corporatist and non-Lockean political parties demanded the Supreme Court just send the bill to the desk of Baszucki to prevent such an overthrow from succeeding. Lockean political parties on the other hand just advocated the right to revolution, arguing that the government exists by the consent of the governed to protect natural rights: life, liberty, and property. When a government breaks this trust through sustained tyranny or failure to protect these rights, the people have a right—and sometimes duty—to replace it, and states that the Robloxian Citizen Militia has the right to replace the Robloxian government with a better Robloxian government. Corporatists when realizing this effectively realized the citizen militia initiated revolutionary war would effectively result in Robloxia prioritizing its people rather than its federal surpluses. To prevent the war from escalating, it was eventually decided that the bill would be sent to the desk immediately.
As it turned out, the president was reported to be under enormous pressure, as most citizens wishes that the bill to be signed. Furthermore, if the bill were signed, Corporatists would be able to regain control of half the country, occupied by the Robloxian Citizen Militia. If the bill were vetoed, a revolution could break out. David Baszucki decided to take no action on it while he considered the pros and cons of such a signing. This consideration, lasting for ten days, was enough such that the bill became a law without the signature of the President, and resulted in a ceasefire in the Robloxian Citizen Militia as getting access to the aforementioned thermonuclear ballistic missiles needed for a successful blitz was met with heavy resistance from the existing Robloxian military.
Features:
One of the important features of the act will be the moving of date of the 2028 United States of Robloxia Presidential Election, originally scheduled on November 7, 2028 to an then unspecified date in 2026. A right will be given to robloxians to change the date of any upcoming United States of Robloxia presidential election, but it would have to be overseen by the legislative, judicial, and executive branches, and an appropriate act will need to be written and sent to the Robloxian Congress.
Proposed Companion Measures:
Throughout the bill's lifetime, many companion measures were suggested, including creating an agency to track political parties and warn the Robloxian government if it is suspected a political party is dangerous and could take over the Robloxian government, funding to improve democracy, allowing the Robloxian military to assist with democratic relief operations, and defining a new national state to declare, a national state of anti-democracy, which will automatically activate federal resources and aid programs.
Legacy:
The act is remembered as a localized inflection point in how Robloxia prepared for and responded to political party takeovers, especially those coming from the Corporatist Party in the years that followed.

Facts:
Each President in Robloxia is elected every four years. Every four years since 2024, eligible robloxians choose a new President of Robloxia. This process is called “electing.” When electing, each eligible robloxian must follow federal laws regarding electing and have federal rights regarding voting.
General Presidential Elections Typically Do Not Occur Sooner Than Every Four Years. General presidential elections typically only occur every four years. There has never been a court order or precedent for an election to occur sooner than every four years. This act, in consideration, would propose a court order authorizing a temporary precedent for the existing general presidential election that occurs typically on November 7, 2028 to be moved to some day in 2026.
Proposal:
General Presidential Election Moved to 2026 . The Early Election Act replaces the date of the general presidential election from November 7, 2028, to some day in 2026. This election, like with any other general presidential election, must follow federal law. The country would use the election to determine a president. The country would then have another election on November 2, 2032, and normal every four year elections would resume on that day.
Call for Change in Federal Law. Early Election Act will require the Robloxia Congress to perform a particular action: change federal law and propose an amendment to the Robloxia Constitution to require that an election date can be changed via court order AND an appropriate act to be passed in the Robloxian Congress (and the approval of the President). This will also apply to this act being implemented.
Robloxiapedia lore effects (written by chikorita152e):
Zero Costs to Robloxiapedia Lore. All literature referring to November 7, 2028 as an election date will have to be changed unless the literature describes a parallel universe. I believe this is as simple as a Find and Replace operation.
AYE/NAY STATEMENT:
A AYE vote on this act means: In some day 2026, the United States of Robloxia will have a general presidential election. Normal general presidential elections with a period of 4 years will resume on November 7, 2032. The federal law will be changed to allow the Supreme Court of Robloxia to have the right to judicially review proposed new election dates after the Robloxian Congress votes a majority AYE on a said new election date under an appropriate act (including this one).
A NAY vote on this measure means: The United States of Robloxia will have a general presidential election on November 7, 2028.
