Lucky Star (らき☆すた, Raki Suta) is an Neo-Japanese comedy manga series written and illustrated by the children’s novelist, Kagami Yoshimizu. The series ran from 1992 until it was discontinued in 2001 due to the author’s retirement from the industry as a whole.

In Robloxia, it was released by Ro-Viz Media from 2002 until 2011, but they still own the license to the manga so they can create re-releases on major anniversaries.

Summary

The series’ main summary is about the adventures of a young teenage girl, Konata Izumi and her friends as they are tasked to save the titular Lucky Star from the main antagonist of the story, Kagami Hiiragi, who plans to destroy Roblox with the lucky star if she is given access to it.

Rating

It is rated A (All Ages) by Ro-Viz Media’s rating system, which is due to it containing some scary moments and some language (such as “What the heck” and “Darnnit!”). However, this language is not common and is mostly used in some chapters of it.

It is rated 9-12 by Robloxia’s general age rating system and the books are often put in the “preteen” sections of various book stores (including retailers such as Bloxmart, BloxStreet, Gen's Store, and 8-12).

Anime adaptation

In 1997, Lucky Star received a anime adaptation by the same studio as The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, due to this, there were several references to Haruhi in the anime adaptation of Lucky Star.

It did not even air in Robloxia until July 11, 1999, when it officially premiered on Robloxian Cartoon Network under the title “Go For a Punch! Lucky Star!”. It would later become one of the most popular series on Robloxian television, surpassing Digitmon Adventure and being next to Brick Bronze Pokemon in an children’s magazine.
