Disblox is a Robloxian company created at 2016 by Carl Eriksen with George Michael Taylor, Paul Jankovic and John Jankowic. When Ro Discord was founded in 2021, Ro Discord became a competitor to Disblox until July 20, 2024. Electron would later become its second competitor, where it remains today.
Story
Beginnings
Work on Disblox began in 2015, when Carl wanted to play Counter Blox with his friends, but he could not as communication with them was very difficult because the only programs available were the outdated Ro-Teamspeak and Bloxpe. So, he and his friends started developing the program. These friends were George Michael Taylor, Paul Jankovic, and John Jankowic; the last two of them were not even related. The work was completed less than a year later, and the company "Disblox Inc." was registered around the same time.
After the release
After its release, it became an instant hit because it solved the problem of many, many Robloxians, because they could talk to their friends.
Present
Currently, Disblox is a monopoly in its category, but there exists some competition on its category. One of the competitors is Ro-Teamspeak, which, although it has modernized and is slowly returning to the market, is still being massacred by Disblox. Another one is Electron. Formerly, Disblox competed with Ro Discord when the latter was founded in 2021, until July 20, 2024.
Lawsuit by federal government of Free Bloxartica (Free Bloxartica v. Disblox Inc.)
On August 4, 2025, the federal government of Free Bloxartica sued Disblox for an undisclosed amount for infringing its flag after many Robloxians were confused on were they going to Disblox or Free Bloxartica. Free Bloxartica federal government wrote a letter saying it will pursue legal action against Disblox after it had sought undisclosed damages and will fine the company an undisclosed amount if they do not obey with the injunction, which is to effectively cease using the flag as its logo within a undisclosed timeframe. As a result, Disblox's reputation was damaged and business opportunities were lost.
On August 8, 2025, Disblox founder Carl Erikson responded to the injunction, avoiding the company from being fined as it essentially obeyed with the injunction. As a result, the lawsuit has been settled outside of court.
