Background
Kendall Winston was born on October 27, 1998 in Ruckerfield, New Bloxico to Rosalina Winston and José Winston, he grew up in a Hispanic-American family. He grew up in Lakewood Apartments in Columbia, New Mexico. He attended Columbia High School.
Death
On March 26, 2015, Winston was stepping out an elevator at the 3rd floor with his brother when a mechanical failure caused the elevator to close its door, causing a part of Winston's torso to get stuck. It lifted up causing his legs and neck to get stuck. He reportedly suffered a cervial fracture. He was stuck for 40 minutes before firefighters got him out. Kendall was transferred to EU Hospital Medical Center. He reportedly had lost a lot oxygen in his brain and was pronounced brain dead due to the cervical fracture and the elevator pinning his neck. He was placed on life support. 3 days after his injury his family gave permission to place him off life support. He was taken off life support and pronounced dead at 4:50 PM.
Aftermath
Winston's family started Kendall's Law which enforced extra safety in elevators. In 2016, New Bloxico signed Kendall's Law. So far a petition was made to approve the law in Bloxas, Bloxburg Valley and New Rosey.
