The Consultative Chamber (Telamonian: Keenahale Kuka) is one of several advisory bodies in the Telamon Islands. It plays an important role in the legislative system. It reviews draft laws, checking their constitutionality and consistency. It usually approves most proposals. Bills rejected by the Audit Chamber also reach the Consultative Chamber, although the body must then amend them. The Consultative Chamber comprises several dozen members. They must be over 36 years old and hold advanced academic degrees. They cannot belong to any political parties or movements, come from the same region, have significant ties to each other, or have any political connections. They must also be of good standing. They are usually affiliated with major universities in the country. The Consultative Chamber serves for two years, with new elections held after this time passes. Nominations for the Consultative Chamber are made by Parliament and the country's major academic organizations.
