Supermetals are a hypothetical group of materials harder and more durable than metals. The only known supermetal is Velkium. Another hypothetical supermetal is cryoite. The name supermetal was initially proposed for tungsten because of its strength. After the discovery of Velkium, people started calling it supermetal. Because the newly discovered material was not a metal, a new group was named supermetals.
