Ah yes…Red (without his hat), hopefully nothing bad will happen to him.. (Foreshadowing in a nutshell...)

Brick Bronze Pokemon: Origins is a short miniseries created by Bloxtendo and OLM. This miniseries was released in 2013 in both Neo-Japan and Robloxia and was originally exclusively released for Bloxtendo Video, a now defunct video sharing platform made by Bloxtendo for the Bloxtendo 3DS.

Premise

It is a retelling of the Generation 1 and 2 games. However, Red actually speaks in this version instead of not speaking. This is probably a reference or homage to Brick Bronze Pokemon Adventures.

The DVD release

In 2018, Ro-Viz Media released the series on DVD with permission from Bloxtendo. The DVD is sold at stores such as BloxStreet and GameStore, though it is more common to find it on GameStore as it is sold next to the "Kirby: Right back at You!" DVD.

The DVD's price is R$1,200 for some reason. (it used to be R$4,800 but the prize has decreased for some reason), the only problem with the DVD is that it only features 10 out of the 12 episodes created for the series and that each time a Brick Bronze fan askes Bloxtendo or OLM (during call) if the other 2 episodes (episode 11 and 12) are going to be released, the robloxian on the other end usually says that Bloxtendo currently has no plans to release episode 11 and 12 due to the files of those 2 episodes being overwritten by the first 2 episodes of XY.

Rating

This series in the English version is rated TV-G. However, in recent years, the rating has been upgraded to TV-14. If this is legitimate, then this series would mark as the first Brick Bronze Pokemon season to ever have this rating. The rating is due to featuring mild cursing (the words shit, damn, bastard and asshole are used in the Neo-Japanese version with English subtitles) and severe violence.

Fun facts

  • This series is the first time in official anime that Red actually speaks.
  • Due to this being released on Bloxtendo Video, it was lost media for a while, until Brick Bronze’s official BloxTube channel uploaded the majority of the series in 2019. (only 2 episodes, episode 11 and episode 12 are missing, the closest we have to those aforementioned episodes is audio that is 24 minutes long and a few screenshots).
    • However, some fans believe that it should’ve stayed lost, mainly due to how disturbing some of the scenes are. (the scenes in question had to be cut in compliance with BloxTube’s terms of service (TOS))
  • Originally, there were only six episodes of this series on Bloxtendo Video, but there were 6 more episodes that could not be put on there due to the fact that it would crash Bloxtendo Video's servers.
  • This series is the only before Ash’s retírement Brick Bronze season where Ash Ketchup does not appear, as he is replaced by Red in this series.
  • It precedes Brick Bronze Pokemon: XY by 2 years, despite not being canon to the main anime lore.
  • This is one of the only few Brick Bronze seasons to not air on TV, probably due to the amount of violence (or gore) featured in it.
