History
Early Days (1917-1969)
On June 3rd, 1917, Gerald R. Bloxford was granted 14 acres of land in Bouston, Bloxas to create a new school for BloxAfrican-Robloxians. He named the school the Bloxas Colored Service School, although it would later be renamed to Bloxas Southern College in 1946. The student body was also heavily involved in activism, most notably participating in the 1960, Equal Access Boycott.
BXSU found early growth by offering Engineering programs. In 1961, 78% of the student body were engineering majors, primarily in electrical and civil engineering. also contributed to the Bouston Reconstruction Project in 1965.
Expansion Era (1970-1981)
In the fall of 1970, school received a 154 Million R$ and 65 acres of land from the state of Bloxas for "development and renovational purposes". The school uses this money to expand the entire campus, doubling its' academic programs and it's staff. The newly upgraded campus was shown off the public at Homecoming 1977, adding 11 new buildings, including 8 for housing. Impressed with what they were able to do, alumni donated an additional 40 Million R$ for a new stadium which was completed in 1980 as well as a new student center which was finished the following year.
The years after the expansion were relatively normal, as BXSU maintained a 54% graduation rate, one of the highest among HBCU.
Independent Review (1993)
On March 9th, 1993, during the spring semester, the Independent Revenue Group requested permission to perform an independent audit on the finances for Bloxas Southern. Interestingly, Dr. Kingston Eldoon, the acting president at the time, was also a senior contact IRG, which made the review request little more than a formality. Additionally, the school's spending was relatively public information, allowing a quick and painless review. They were reward the rare Gold Star for it's financial responsibility grading.
Following the review, Dr. Eldoon famously said "Our goal is to ensure that our alumni, our colleagues and those who doubt the Excellence In Achievements of BloxAfrican-Robloxians, can trust what we do."
University Era (2007-Present)
At the 2004 Roblox Educators Conference in Robloxia City, D.C., discussion regarding promoting Bloxas Southern to a college began. Alexander Newton, who would later lead the newly created Roblox University Group, was extremely adamant in seeing the school's promotion to university status as he believed the school should be rewarded for it's diligent work in being trustworthy. In 2007, the school was promoted to a university and admitted as the second member of RUG.
In 2011, BXSU's marching band the Ocean Of Soul was awarded the John Blox Sousa Award for it's outstanding performance during the Fall 2011 season.
