BA-2 is the longest provinical highway of Bloxalberta. It has been operating for nearly 29 years and since then it was ranked to the (Edburg East Plain Highway).
The first section of BA-2 is the Ropeace River and Grimshaw/Gremshaw area, constructed in 1995. The second section was added to connect Bloxande Prairie via Fairfew which was added in 1998. The third section was added in 2001 when the Ropeace River road was extended bisecting the communties of Romaclennan and Slave River. The fourth section got added right after the third section was added and it was a large section going from Slave River to Bloxedmonton via the communites of Adabasca and St. Mornville. The fifth section includes the Bloxalbertan Metro Highway going through cities like Bloxedmonton, Blue Deer, and Calblox. The last and final section (sixth) is going from Calblox to southern Bloxtana giving access to the Interblox 56 highway.
