Andrew White Bloxander (May 21, 1898 - July 18, 1990) was a Robloxian musician, singer, actor, author and pianist who had contributed in numerous of notable works from the early 20th century. He had many popular pieces of instrumental music and jazz songs from the 1920s and 1930s. Andrew had also raised a son, Charles Bloxander, who eventually became a popular singer and actor. His legacy still continues today. He had been one of the best singers of the 1920s and 1930s, hence, he was named in The Significant Robloxians of Music.
Biography
Early Life
Andrew White Bloxander was born in Greenville, Wisconsin, to parents, John Williams Bloxander and Annie Bloxander. His father was a carpenter, and his mother, a school teacher. Andrew had a powerful interest towards music at an early age. By the age of 5, Bloxander was already proficient in playing the piano, he started composing small piano songs on his own and was very creative. He had a strong interest on singing too and was very talented in jazz music. He had studied composing music and drama near his home.
Career
Andrew had set off to start his career in 1919, after composing his first song to the public, "Haters". The song eventually got quite popular. It was mostly instrumental and consisted of very little singing. In 1920, he had acted as the main character in the film, "Struggling Pianist", which was produced by one of his friend and the film was quite related to his life about a teenage Robloxian struggling to master the piano and eventually did.
In 1920, Bloxander released a successful album, "Notes of the Night", which became an instant hit across Robloxia. Many of the songs in the album were very popular and consisted of catchy tunes of jazz. In 1932, he had performed at a concert hall and eventually became his best concert while playing songs from his popular album. He had sang and at the same time played the piano while there were also other musicians with guitars and violins.
In 1930, he had a kid, Charles Bloxander who later on eventually became a singer. Throughout the 1930s, Andrew grew in popularity and became a prominent figure of jazz. In 1932, Bloxander performed at the Grand Robloxian Concert Hall, and it became one of his best and well known concerts through time and had been filmed too. Various popular albums of his were played such as, "Notes of the Night", "Green Day" and etc. Andrew's music had been popular and spread around Robloxia and had been named one of the best singers of the 1920s and 1930s. His songs had consisted of very catchy piano tunes.
By 1937, at the age of 39, Andrew retired for an unknown reason. By the 1940s, he had published numberous of popular books and especially novels for children. Some popular novels include, “Gigantic Sun” (1944) and “A Random Driver” (1956). These novels were very well known and read a lot even today. In 1948, another popular children's book he had made was, "A lonely Pianist" (1948), which was related to Andrew's journey of becoming a pianist. The book had inspired many Robloxians.
In the 1970s, he had proceeded to novels which were educational and inspirational. They had also included the themes of memory and nostalgia. His 1963 novel, "Fading Wind", had also focused on those themes. It had been related to Andrew's own life of being popular and then later on aging and as time passes.
Retirement and death
In 1987, he published his last book, "Rainfall" relating to time and memory of life. After that, he retired. In 1990, he died from an unknown disease, however his legacy continued. After his death, a singer, Gerrard Bloxy, made a memorial song for Andrew, giving him a huge respect.
