Alexandra is a major fictional character in the Lovely World animated television series created by John Collins. She served as one of the two protagonists, alongside with Anthony, of the new Lovely World series Lovely World: the Beta Series from the sixth to the twelfth season, replacing the original main characters from the previous series. The character created by artists Laura Rose, Aryana Clemons, Lilliana Marks and Hadassah Sutton and developed by John Collins and Scott Murray. Alexandra was voiced by Karlie French in the English-language version of the series, while Constanza Aparicio did it in other countries, including the Spanish dub. Alexandra is a young adult girl in college who travels across the world with his companion Anthony and her three-year old pet animal, dreaming of becoming well-known. She suffers from a variety of challenges, including social anxiety, which causes her to cry more frequently than others. Throughout the story, she meet her friends Corey, Sophia, Lucy, Kelly, Eawn, Isabelle, and Bradley.

Alexandra was partially inspired by the character Kamila, who originally served as one of the main characters from the previous seasons. However, as production on the sixth season began, the authors rewrote her to make her stand out from the others due to her shyness, and they wanted to deepen her character development to connect with mostly females and individuals with social anxiety and autism. Throughout the Beta series' production, the creators wanted her character to evolve, such as becoming more mature over time, developing stronger feelings, and protecting those she cared about.

Alexandra had been well accepted by both ladies and people with autism, as well as commentary for her actions later in the general series. However, her powerful feelings of crying were first met with criticism from critics and spectators, but her character was more positively regarded by the ninth season, thanks to her character development and dependability toward others. Because of the success of Lovely World: the Beta Series, Alexandra had been featured in merchandise and become one of the popular characters from the Lovely World franchise.

Conception and design

Alexandra was designed by artists Laura Rose, Aryana Clemons, Lilliana Marks and Hadassah Sutton and created by John Collins and Scott Murray. In 2015, development began on the new Lovely World series Lovely World: the Beta Series, which was intended to include a new cast rather than the present primary characters. Because of the significant transition between the fifth and sixth seasons, many artists were assigned to work on new characters for the new series. John Collins, who had previously served as the show's showrunner for the first three seasons, was asked to return and create new characters.

John was inspired by one of the original cast's characters, Kamila, who was the primary character for the first five seasons. He created an early version of Alexandra, previously known as Kate in screenplays, who was described as a "strong and brave woman" around the age of 20. The character was supposedly scheduled to embark on a big arc, which, according to an Avast Television leak from January 2025, would see Kate strive to defend the planet from an organization. However, between March and May of that year, John and the production crew explored plans to rework the character totally. The deal was reached between the months, and John hired Laura Rose, Aryana Clemons, Lilliana Marks, and Hadassah Sutton to reimagine the role as a 17-year-old adult. John was also influenced by persons with autism and wanted to give the character a "new twist" by making her more emotionally sensitive than the others and having "some sort of autism" such as body language.

Design

Alexandra was confirmed to be roughly 5'4" (163 cm) tall, which is the norm for a female, in a press release and a casting call from April 2015. She frequently wears a Wrap Dress from her debut in the first episode till the first part of the third season. Alexandra wears a Dirndl Dress, Leggings as her pants, and black to white shoes on both of her feet beginning with the sixth episode of season three. When developing the character, John claimed that an early version of Alexandra had the character "looking like a princess" and had traits similar to those as a "magical girl". The original design was used in a few episodes of the season Lovely World: The Beta Series - The Adventure, as well as a special and a feature.

Voice actors

Alexandra was voiced by Karlie French, who was 16 years old when the character's lines were recorded for the first episodes between June and September 2015, and 17 by the time the first season aired. She has also voiced the role in multiple television specials, two films, and cameo appearances in other franchises. She was substituted in only one episode owing to illness during the recording process, and Jennifer Harvey was the voice actor. While recording for Lovely World: the Beta Series - Superstar, Karlie noticed her voice becoming deeper and chose to adapt her personality in terms of voicing the character to make her more authentic, mainly for the later storylines for the remaining three seasons of the series. Karlie was nearly 22 years old when Lovely World: the Beta Series was finished, and she had originally planned to reprise her role once the seventh season of the Beta Series concluded. In the Spanish dub of the series, Alexandra is portrayed by 18-year old Constanza Aparicio.

Characteristics

Personality

Alexandra is described by the production team as "Someone that has social anxiety and deals with numerous challenges". According to Lovely World showrunner John Collins, she struggles to talk about the villagers outside of her group in early episodes, and when she discussed their joining her in some parts of the first season, she found herself second-guessing her choice because of her autism. This confirms that society anxiety is her biggest problem in the series. In one episode, Alexandra struggles with criticism and worries about it, especially after her dramatic performance in the two-episode debut of the third season, in which she was seen fleeing and crying as the fans attacked her.

Because of her behavior and how other people react to her, she is emotionally sensitive and frequently breaks down in tears or tears during most events. In spite of this, Alexandra frequently enjoys talking with her group when they get together, discuss their goals, and go on trips together. Later on in the series, Alexandra made the decision to transform herself into a much stronger, more mature person. She struggled with her superpowers in the first few episodes, but she was able to relax and feel wonderful with the help of her group and her family, whom she managed to save. In subsequent seasons, Alexandra exhibits optimism and enthusiasm for her goals. Following various incidents with several people, Alexandra swore to protect her family and her friends, as well as their animals, which leads to her being stabbed by a person in the episode "The Christmas Special".

Abilities

In some episodes, like "Test Your Powers," Alexandra's ability to transform into a magical girl was hinted at by the evolution of her pet animal, Sheep, and a light source that displays memories of her from the past. Her full magical girl debut occurred in "Fight to Death — Part Three," where she was able to transform into one and battle Jay for the duration of the episode, frequently punching the villain with her hands. Eventually, the villain was defeated, and she transformed back into the persona, her superpowers now a part of her. She is able to train punching, kicking, dodging moves and is able to hit her targets with a strong amount of force.
