The 2020 Lexington Towers Quicksand Incident, also referred to as the "Near-Miss of Quicksand" was an incident caused by neglect to safety,
and the underestimation of the Lexington Towers Quicksand Alley, dubbed Sinking Alley. It involved the dancer Samhín MacBloxia stepping into the quicksand and eventually submerging before rescue at the last second.
Before the Incident
Excitement for 2021 had been bubbling, and the Lexington Investments Association(Now Lexington Holdings) had invited a rising star Samhín MacBloxia to perform at Lexington Towers while it was under construction, on a specialised venue.
She had been nervous, reporting an "ominous feeling something would happen," and some of her pre-performance photos were of her blushing and nervous. Her nervous face was viewed as "cute" by photographers at the venue and disregarded her feelings. She had brushed it off as nerves for the performance. LIA had believed the quicksand pit was not dangerous and would only sink a victim to their knees. This was what had ultimately led to the incident.
Eventually, she began to hallucinate squelching noises and a girl screaming "help," and she thought, "Mud? Ehh, I'm not in a dangerous area," There were no safety systems installed there until weeks after the incident. She knew there was mud in the area, but was unaware that it was quicksand.
At around 2pm, the show had started, and it had broke up at 3PM for a break, to return at around 11PM in time for new years. Later on, Samhín swore she could hear a weird "woah" noise in hallucination. This same noise when she had imitated it was similar in nature to how the fire alarm sounds at the current Lexington Towers.
During the Incident
Samhin to her stomach in quicksand
At around 3:15PM, Samhín had set herself up for the incident. She had worn her casual clothes to avoid damaging the dress in performance. She had then accidentally seen an interesting pit of mud. She stated in the following interview, "I was wearing shorts for those few hours, and had nothing else to do. I might as well have gotten myself a bit muddy, there was a faucet somewhere near the stage that I could have just used to wash the mud off when I was done,"
Samhín past her knees in the quicksand. This was the first image released in the CCTV releases.

She had on her "mud-slippers" as she described them, which she stepped into the pit. She had then began to sink. Within a minute, the quicksand had reached her chin, and submerged her completely seconds later. Attention was only drawn to the situation when she had given up attempting to escape and yelled at the top of her voice, "HELP ME!! I'M SINKING AND IT'S ALREADY UP TO MY SHOULDERS"
A contractor on the roof of the Front Lobby building had seen a head popping out of the quicksand, before he had used the emergency calling system. LIA were quickly made aware, and attempted to rescue her. A crane was used to pull her out of the quicksand, and she was safe but scarred. She had placed her phone and coat on the grass behind in case she wouldn't be heard, which helped identify her location. It was regarded as one of the most chaotic days in the complex's history.
As described by Samhín, the quicksand had dragged her down extremely quickly.
After the Incident
Samhin had performed as normal at 11PM and welcomed the new year, pretending that nothing had ever happened. The public had only found out a week later that she had fallen into quicksand in between the performances. She was interviewed on the 5th January.
In this interview, she had stated how the quicksand had submerged her. Her interview was summarised, however word for word exactly it was, "Samhín, what happened that day after the play in the mud idea," and she replied with, "Uh, I remember the squelching noise and getting lower, looking down and realising my ankles were down, then it was a quick mess from there, the quicksand was literally up to my knees in just seconds, and then it was up to my shorts. I could feel the coldness of the mud around me, and I knew it would only get worse. I was talking to myself "Help, What can I do?!" and I was shaking. Soon, it was up to my waist, then it was halfway between my waist and elbows. My hands were sucked in, and my arms also became entrapped. It reached my elbows, and I started to cry, badly. I knew it was over. My stomach was sinking fast into the quicksand. The quicksand had then started to reach my shoulders, where I finally gave up and yelled for help. My chin was going, then my mouth, I couldn't speak, all I could say was "Mmph" and eventually all of me was under the quicksand, but I was able to get my hand out of it by miracle. I felt the crane, and I knew that I was saved at the last minute, It was hard to perform as normal when that had just happened, I told nobody, everybody only found out the week after,"
She had stated later on, "Imagine if I had worn the dress, it would not have been a good thing; I'd likely have to pay for it."
Lexington Towers had reviewed the CCTV footage after. It had only updated every 1 second, and lacked audio due to their older installation from 2011, Lexington Towers announced that they will be updating CCTV in that area in the event of a worst case scenario like that again.
Reviewing of the footage had discovered things that were not noted by her; it were discovered that Samhin had wore an undershirt, and she had used a turtleneck sweater to indicate that there was something wrong, not her coat.
