The 2012 Bloxburg City mayoral election was held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. In the election, Froggy Hopz won the election for a second term by an overwhelming landslide margin, receiving over 80%, with over 2,260,000 votes, whereas Freddie James garnered only over 963,000 votes, accounting for around 20% of the vote.
For the first time in the history of Bloxburg City's elections, a series of debates were held between June and October 2012.

Communist Party
In 2011, Freddie James indicated an interest in running for mayor of Bloxburg. On December 9, 2011, James declared that he will formally run for mayor of Bloxburg in the 2012 Bloxburg City mayoral elections, making him the second-youngest candidate. He is a member of the Communist Party, having first joined in 2010.
