The tornado rips across a field at EF-4 strength, 3 minutes away from Brickton
The 1989 Brickton Tornado was a violent EF5 that struck the bustling town of Brickton on May 4th, 1989. The tornado formed near the northern border of Dustville, hit a barn, and entered eastern Brickton at EF-5 strength. 13 Robloxians died, along with around 50+ injuries and over 400 billion ROBUX in damages.
Meteorological Synopsis
On May 4, 1989, temperatures reached up to 103 degrees in the state of Western Robloxia. Humidity was extremely high too, and some moderate showers happened on the west side of the state. From the north, a large cold front was heading southeast, heading close to the mid-central region of the state, where Brickton was. That afternoon, most Robloxians in Brickton were happy to have such a hot day. People went in their pools or went and got ice cream. Nobody expected the nightmare that was yet to come. The later in the day it got, the CAPE was already boosted to almost 4,500 J kg-1. At around 4:39, strong winds and rain shook the area. It stopped at around 5pm. Robloxians thought the threat was over. However, it was only just beginning.
Touchdown
At around 6:03 PM at night, a small funnel dropped from the clouds just north of Dustville. It was a violent and fast, but super tiny rope tornado. Storm chasers on scene figured it was heading north at around 45 mph.
Intensifying
The small rope kept intensifying. Storm chasers rushed north to follow it. Soon, it went over a lake, and became a waterspout temporarily. Even so, the tornado kept intensifying as it became darker, and was soon a small cone. It travelled over a forest for a bit, still strengthening. Doppler radar was able to measure EF-2 windspeeds on the tornado
Explosion in the sky
While travelling over several other fields, the tornado would rapidly grow in size suddenly, turning into a moderate sized cone, and becoming an extremely violent EF-4. It shredded trees, approached a farm, ripped a barn to shreds, sent a parked pickup truck flying over 100 feet into the air, tore apart a grain silo, and sent pieces flying around the outer circulation. Storm chasers suddenly backed off of this monster as it approached windspeeds almost 200 miles per hour.
Rotating cloud of death
The tornado entered the city limits of Eastern Brickton at 6:19 PM, and tore a car dealership to shreds, becoming a violent 232 mph cone EF-5. It threw SUV's and heavy pickup trucks hundreds of feet. Families and neighbors huddled in their shelters as their homes above them were lifted off the ground and torn to pieces. The tornado hit a gas station, sending a heavy fuel truck almost 200 feet into the air before it ripped the entire gas station apart and causing an explosion. It continued through several more suburban areas, tearing power lines out of the ground, uprooting trees, and hitting a bus depot, sending busses flying, and killing 3 Robloxians. It eventually left town and dissipated completely only 3 minutes before it would have hit Maple Blox, another town off the distance.
