Sirens of Saturn is a demo album by Sons of Pale Horse.
History
Sirens of Saturn is 70 minutes of lo-fi progressive rock that includes three pieces: an updated version of Hooded Basilisk Suite, and two early tracks that would later appear on The Book of Rorschach, "Good Men Like My Father" and "Aoxomoxoa Now" (which was later known as "No One Cares But Me").
Sons of Pale Horse attempted to develop a following by offering bootleg recordings of Sirens of Saturn on pirate TV stations, but found no takers as it wasn't the Poz Pop that record labels wanted.[1]
Trivia
- The album's name is not only a reference to Kurt Vonnegut's 1959 science fiction novel The Sirens of Titan, but it is also an allusion to both Adrian Veidt's secret location (Titan is one of Saturn's Moons) and the 11/2 Psychic Shockwave conspiracy, as the plot involves an alien invasion of Earth.
