The Pendragon is a fictional ship that appears in Curse of the Crimson Corsair.

History

In Curse of the Crimson Corsair, the Pendragon was commanded by the stern and unyielding Captain Lemuel Chane, whose uncompromising discipline defined life aboard the vessel. In 1771, during what began as a routine sea voyage, Midshipman Quentin Vole was caught stealing a second ration of rum during night watch. Chane responded with ruthless severity, ordering Vole to be keelhauled—a lethal punishment in which the offender is dragged beneath the ship’s barnacle-encrusted hull.

Junior Officer Gordon McClachlan pleaded for clemency, but his appeals fell on deaf ears. Vole’s death cast a long shadow over the crew, breeding unrest and deepening the oppressive atmosphere on board.

Weeks later, the Pendragon was attacked and sunk by a Spanish warship. McClachlan, one of the few survivors, was left adrift—wracked with guilt—before ultimately being rescued by the Crimson Corsair.[1]
