Carl Bernstein was an investigative journalist for The Washington Post.

Biography

In 1972, Carl Bernstein teamed up with Bob Woodward to investigate the break in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate complex in Washington, D.C.. In January 1973, they uncovered evidence exposing Richard Nixon's involvement in the burglary. Before they can report their findings, both Woodward and Bernstein are assassinated by Edward Blake (the Comedian), and the evidence they gathered exposing Nixon's involvement in the Watergate scandal is destroyed.[1]

In 1973, Blake joked about the assassination of Woodward and Bernstein during a banquet in his honor, claiming that he is "clean", but told them not to ask where he was when John F. Kennedy was killed.[1]
